I love how you changed Hyde’s part to Jekyll’s instead. In the stage production they had it as Hyde, but this is so much better. Lucy and Jekyll don’t really interact much in the musical, and I wish they did. Your vision of Jekyll and Hyde is beautiful. I wish you could animate the whole thing!

Looking at the darkend eye bags, I assume it is hyde pretending to be jekyll I mean look at the mirror, when jekyll /hyde appears in Lucy's room, at first there is the smile, than we think it is jekyll because it is gone But then in the mirror, there still is hyde and his devilish smile - no wavering what so ever
@alexamae81465 жыл бұрын
It could also possibly that jekyll is getting less and less sleep as the musical goes on

My sympathies to Lucy, these two, Jekyll and Lucy, are really the epitome of the modern Greek tragedy. It is heart breaking to listen to this song, knowing where it ends. Simple animation, but carried by beautiful expression. Watching this on mute can tell you the whole story.

I’ve come to two conclusions. 1. It’s Hyde pretending to be Jekyll to lure Lucy even more. OR 2. It really is Jekyll that somehow managed to suppress Hyde for the moment being. From what I’ve seen anyway. Never got to read the whole book or finish any live shows about it.
@JenamDrag0n6 жыл бұрын
Lucy and Lisa don't exist in the original book and unlike modern-day adaptations, Jekyll and Hyde being the same person was the big plot-twist revealed to the readers at the end of the story.

Question, during that same part, was it Jekyll himself who said it or was it Hyde? Because when I see Hyde he usually has his glasses off but when it is Jekyll he has his glasses on. (personally jekyll but i am unsure)
@misachan2276 жыл бұрын
@@helenakoerner5536 Well, nice question. I think it may be Jekyll. "For a moment" in the mirror you can see Hydes grin face, but when Lucy turns around, you can see Jekyll. Buuuut that grin can mean that the man, who came through the window it's Edward Hyde, who play "the good guy" for Lucys trust. Yeah, it can be, because the next scene, in Dangerous game, we have only Lucy and Hyde.

i just realized by listening to the end over and over that we can hear that little "laugh" in the end of the word "was" but also kind of fear and sadness. it was like one of the only moments in the musical, when jekyll just didn't have strenght to fight hyde, but also hyde gave him some of his control, and that is just awesome that "for a moment" they were like harmony.

Aww... I always figured it was Hyde who was talking to her in the end. Lucy being hopeful to see Jekyll, but in the end it was just Hyde who was drawn to her singing. Oh well, it was good anyway. :D
@BattosaiKen246 жыл бұрын
I always got confused whether it was Jekyll or Hyde who talks at the end, I thought it was Hyde, too. But I don't know, it could make sense to be Jekyll if I remembered the context of what came right after this song in the performance(unless this was one of the off-stage songs, then oof) so I never remembered the context to be sure of who it was
@iRinnda6 жыл бұрын
I honestly have no idea. I've never seen the show, so I'm just guessing by the sound of the voice. And to me it sounds more like Hyde: raspy, deep and ruthless. I think I read a fancomic (doujinshi) of Jekyll & Hyde some years ago, and in that it was depicted as Jekyll losing control, turning into Hyde, and Hyde going to the local brothel where he first hears and sees Lucy performing. Later Lucy gets injury of some sort and gets fixed up at Jekyll's clinic, at which point Hyde recognizes her. Some stuff happens, yada yada, and Hyde knows her true identity whilst Jekyll has only seen her as a normal woman at the clinic. Then again, that was just a doujinshi, so I believe the author took some artistic freedoms on the story, so I really can't tell if it's originally supposed to be Jekyll or Hyde at the end of this song.
@BattosaiKen246 жыл бұрын
I saw the stage performance, actually in a youtube video that's still up. It plays a whole lot differently than the original soundtrack this is in. I just went back to it to double check, and this whole song was before she even met Jekyll(who she met first in the performance) so on the last line of "Nobody knows who I am" it cuts off, so there is no answer. With the way the soundtrack plays out, the spoken line is entirely up to listening
@calcifiedweatherfrog49456 жыл бұрын
It was hyde in the musical but its still a amazing video

Oof- the part with Jekyll coming to and realizing what he(Hyde) had done absolutely broke me. That's one thing that I always wished we'd gotten to see more of in this show, Jekyll reacting to/dealing with the chaos that his alter ego caused. And you captured it beautifully; with him leaning against the wall in pure shock at what he'd done and then crumpling to the ground, overcome with guilt. I felt that. This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite bits in the entire series. 👌❤

Gonna be real here; Henry's reaction to what he's done is what I remember about this. Cuz there's two ways people respond to the realization they killed someone. I know a ton of people think that's Hyde at the end but I think that Jekyll is suppressing Hyde because every time is in control he doesn't hold back he has no restraint since his thing is doing stuff. Once there were sweet possibilities I could see, just for me! Now all my dreams are just memories; Faded, never to be... Time's not a friend Hurrying by I wonder, who am I? Am I the face of the future? Am I the face of the past? Am I the one who must finish... last? Look at me and tell me who I am- Why I am what I am! Will I survive?- Who will give a damn? If no one knows who I am? Nobody knows- Not even you- No one knows who I am... [HYDE, spoken] I know who you are, my dear. [LUCY, spoken] For a moment, I thought it was someone else. The minute I clicked I just thought: “Wait did bae improve-Wait a minute!”. And when you kept the dialogue between double bae and Doc boy. (I’m bad with names and spelling, forgive me).
