This is a great win for Penko b/c of the mental aspect. Usually after losing a biggish lead Penko would just get mad at herself and make lots more errors but she kept it cooler while still being firey. This bodes REALLY well for her moving forward. If I were swiatek I'd be lighting candles hoping that Azarenka takes her out next round. I don't think that will be the case tho as Penko has too much firepower for Azarenka.

Penko will always have a problem with her serve, especially the second one. Long gone are her RG-winning days when she could serve consistently above 200 km/h and strike ace after ace after ace. She was unstoppable back in those halcyon days. Destructive. She lost the serve and some of that defensive agility but she perfected the art of finding lethal angles and correcting ball trajectories and using them against the opponent. She truly is a ball-striking genius. I would go so far as to say that 90% of the players on the WTA tour can't do what she does with a racket. Those angles... Has been one of my favourites for about 5/6 years now. GO, PENKO!!!
