Just hope that the intestines do not release an enzyme or proteïne that pulls the calcium from this gel so it inflates again causing a blockage....

That's science for ya - researchers are always repurposing common items that work really well for random uses! For example - ice cube trays are used to collect and count water bugs in macroinvertebrate investigations.

Would this work controlling hunger as it reduces the internal capacity of the stomach? Maybe use it as temporary weight loss approach?

Far better than lipoband or stomach staples. Lol maybe they can dual purpose the idea.
@VoLCoMzYaDiGG5 жыл бұрын
But is hunger a symptom of being physically empty or is it a low energy thing? Just because you put stuff in your stomach doesn't mean you won't be hungry. Thus people would still eat just as much, the only thing is they wouldn't be able to hold it down or process it properly.
@cwntman5 жыл бұрын
@@VoLCoMzYaDiGG okay, then maybe it would have a same type of effect as a gastric band without the surgery

what's the point of temporary weight loss?
@cassiesevigny5 жыл бұрын
So, after a bowel movement, do you need to save the hydrogel pack from the toilet? Does the sensor need to be retrieved to collect the data afterward or is it in real time somehow, and how might the sensor and packet affect the environment or sewer system if flushed?
@williammclaughlin73575 жыл бұрын
Has it been subjected to higher elevated environmental situations, such as mountains and inside of airplanes while in flight? Or below sea level? Could it be used as a appetite suppressant for people who have difficulty losing weight?

How does IP work when in university? If you invent something, do you or the university get the rights to the IP?
@lesleymillar-nicholson71605 жыл бұрын
If created at the University with funds and resources from the government or University funds/resources - it is University owned. The university will pay for patenting, licensing etc and will share around 33% of any future licensing revenues with the inventors.
