If you (and I kid you not), get your "sus" value to a maximum by doing everything perfectly without any delay and answer question in the most suspicious way, you can talk to odile and she tells you: She asks Sif to enlighten her. Is this why Sif knows where everything is? Because Sif has seen it before? Did they fail against the King? Is this why he is repeating the same events? Sif flips out, gives a hint towards the true ending, the screen closes in and *_REWIND TO THE START OF THE CONVERSATION_*

I believe that Loop didn't mean it literally when they said they had never killed the king, it was more an exaggeration to emphasize how long it took for them. However, they knew that the king wasn't the end before Siffrin had killed him which would imply defeating the King at least once.
