The most memorable moment in ISAT for me is actually one probably entirely unique to me. I got all the way to the king, but I had already done everything I needed to in that loop, so I figured it’d be faster to just lose to the king on purpose. Then the cutscene played, and I felt immense regret. And then Siffrin said something along the lines of “you forgot how bad it hurts” and I did forget. It was just such a personal moment that was entirely unscripted, and for that reason it stuck with me
@Pan.Gaming

I don't actually think I got that one. And I think that's part of what makes ISAT so interesting! There's so many things, so many lines, so many situations, that only come up once in a blue moon. So much so that you feel like it was just for you. One thing I don't remember mentioning in this video was a scene in the bathroom where Sif forgets Odile's name, and it might just be the most relatable thing I've ever read. Thank you for the comment!

For me, I don't have a specific moment that stood out, but a specific feeling. Even if the party members would forget everything when I looped back, I will still scared to make different choices and explore different places because I didn't want to upset them. There were some books or some cupboards that I knew would make them suspicious and I didn't want to deal with the potential fallout. Every time I did make the choice to 'see what happens', it was intensely stressful and I found myself holding my breath. In that sense, I was inextricably connected to Siffrin. I also experienced a similar mania that Siffrin does when something *new* happened in a loop.

Thanks for watching and for the comment! This being my second video essay, as well as the first one heavily focused on telling a game's story, you can kinda see that I got better at it as the video goes on. I mean like, there's that one part where I let the death cutscene play out for a bit... like why isn't that voiced? But I do think the bits from 57:30 on, starting at the voiced clocktower segment, and on is a good display of what I should have been doing the whole time! But, yeah, I don't see enough talk about In Stars and Time. Where are the other video essays about it? I didn't touch the aspect of what makes you as a person if you have no background, so I'd love to hear from someone who could connect with that, like how I connected with the whole 'the only thing that matters is the end' part.

At the time of writing this, I had just finished playing In Stars And Time about 6ish hours ago. It was possibly the greatest experience I have had with a game since Omori. The little snippets into Siffrin's views of themselves are so crucial, hinting all that time what he really wants. Yet they are unaware of it in some level. He hates to be seen, he is surprised whenever he is touched, he fears being forgotten, he fears being alone. He wants family. That's what he knows on the surface, but those feelings come from deeper, from Home Sickness, a home he can't even recall, parents and friends he can't recall. He can't recall their touch, he can't recall eating malagna fritters their parents made to the point of being sick, he can't recall eating fish with their friend, he can't recall his parents gifting him his cloak and hat that grows with him and keeps him comfortable. He can't recall the night he got mad about being given veggies and running away on a boat as an act of rebellion. He can't recall rowing back home, only to suddenly lose the memory of what happened afterwards. He recalls waking up on a beach. Where is he, who is he, where does he come from, did anyone ever love me. He stands alone at the beach, looking over to a spot in the ocean, where something is missing, but it hurts to think about. He cries, but nothing comes out of it, so it is a waste of time. If they are able to forget their family that easily, then what stops it from happening again, to themselves. Are they even real if they don't remember their own childhood? He wants someone to hold him, to confirm he is real, but what if he isn't? What if he is fake, what if he is forgotten, their existence is pointless, pointless. Even if Siffrin doesn't remember, the lack of memories of their childhood still shapes him as a person, makes him real. But he gets so hanged up on making his life have meaning, or at least have any effect, by spending every moment making others happy. And just maybe, they won't leave, like everything else did.

Thanks for watching! When I started working on this, I felt like In Stars And Time didn't have the recognition it deserved, so I'm glad to see that it's at least popular enough to overlap with some Limbus Company players! I'm also glad that the insanity of editing the same but slightly different clips worked, because that really took a toll on me. I guess we'll see if I'll manage to hit your exact interests next time! In Stars And Time, or: "Siffrin's rejection-sensitive dysphoria is so bad they almost destroy the world over perceived rejection". He will simply put all his feelings in a little box somewhere and then eventually he'll die :) (In a less humorous note, part of *what* saves Ishmael from just becoming another Ahab and repeating the cycle is that she *isn't alone.* She has people surrounding her who care about her, want her to do well, and will go HEY! WHAT THE FUCK! at her when she goes too far, and who are actively watching her struggle with her problems. The Sinners as a whole might be a mess, and they're not exactly perfect people, but their influence on each other makes them *better.* And Siffrin... Siffrin only has Loop. Loop *does* care about Siffrin and want them to succeed, there's no doubt about that, but Loop... they have their own issues (there's a conversation you can have with them where they say they actually don't know what they look like!), and we can't forget they hate his fucking guts. Siffrin doesn't have an unbiased outsider to ground them -- they have someone who is just as trapped as he is, just as detached as he becomes, and both of them deflect as hard as possible when someone else tries to display real, genuine concern. We can't let people know we FEEL.)

Me and my homies all keep little boxes of our feelings and keep them out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind! Thinking about it, yeah, I did downplay how important it is to have other people around you. I don't mention Heathcliff pulling Ishmael out of the gunk during the final fight, nor the fact that Dante shouts a suggestion during the harpoon throwing cutscene. And, uh, Loop. Loop is such a funny guy, huh? It's crazy how much they hate Sif, but at the same time, Loop is the only reason Sif's final run doesn't end in disaster, by guiding the rest of the party. Both games end up pointing out how important having other people is, to save us as well as ground us. Thanks for the interesting comment!

Even though this is the first time ever seeing both of these series, I can also relate to both of them but more in Sif's case as I view myself as a steppingstone for others and not showing my feelings to the point that I cry when talking about my interests or making myself the centre of attention. The Moto "The end justifies the process" is something I believe in as well (even though it's flawed) as I find that all the time and all the effort can be cruel and crushing when it tries to beat you down over and over again but if the end is worth it I would go through all of the torture to achieve what I believe will make others happy or make people proud. It's a way to prove that I deserve to live so seeing Sif's trials of suffering actually made me cry for a bit. (Also Great video Pan, Keep up the great work) 👍
@Pan.Gaming
@Pan.Gaming 5 ай бұрын
I'm glad that I was able to show Siffrin's story well enough to get a real reaction! (I was very worried that it wouldn't come across.) I think the deal with the whole "the ends justify the means" phrase is that it's often used as an excuse. One angle that I didn't cover that CascadianFalls suggested was covering ethics. Ahab's whale was her excuse to mistreat the crewmates and leading them to their death. (Extremely unethical) Ishmael's hunt for Ahab resulted in mistreating her coworkers. (Technically unethical) Siffrin's mindset has them ignore themself for the party... (?) ...to the point where they'd end themself. (Unethical (probably)) So, looking at this phrase with ethics in mind, we can find a (somewhat blurry) line that we shouldn't cross. To get anything done in life, it's going to take hard work, sweat, and tears. Many have to suffer to get their work done, and that suffering can be tossed away with the phrase. But, I think the important part is keeping your actions in check. It's one thing to dedicate time, effort and thoughts to a project. And it's another to skip meals or lose sleep to get a single step closer to the end. (And also don't do obviously unethical things like kill people??? Ahab??? Ishmael???) So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that remember that you are a person. You aren't just the things you do, and you deserve things like breaks, treats, and recognition.

@@Pan.GamingI ALSO REALIZED MY REPLY. DID NOT SEND??? So I am trying again!!! I did also do voiceacting when me and a few friends went through it, and while I did voice both Ish AND Ahab, I gave Ish a numbed down and bored /"so done with this" voice- and eventually got to counter it with making Ahab sound more like a theatre kid since I couldn't do a gruff voice successfully. The gruffness adds to the age so much though- and also Project Moon characters have gender. Not anything specific, just gender. So, the gruffness also adds to that, haha. Welcome to the video I'm actually proud of! (Even if I don't sound like it in the video... you know how self-doubt goes) I believed I was taking a pretty big risk emulating the loops like that, since repeating the same bits over and over could make the video worse to watch. But, the loops is how the game gets relatable, so I knew I had to do it. I'm just glad it actually works! (Or I assume it does, since I can't watch this video without noticing like 100 things I'd want to change.) As for the views/subs bit, I was at like 390 subs before that Jash video happened, so with the flood of Jash fans that watched or subbed, I am only A LITTLE afraid of the expectation those people might have. But, like before, I'm only going to upload things that are interesting to me! So, hopefully that's what people are here for! And, also, as I said at the end of this one, I don't really care about the subs or views, but I do really enjoy the comments. I read every single one (even the Jash video). Ah, it seems i have stumbled upon another long reflective retrospective piece of media that puts a considerable perspective on life, just gently flowing down youtube's recommendation wind right unto my lap, how quaint. Jokes aside, thanks for this video. The core value of this video might just be sitting back on my mind's repository just like the lots of them i've collected. I might not relate as strongly owing to the fact that i have no particular nostalgia to look back upon, no considerable hopes and dreams that might drive me into obsession, no friends to confide or share each other's burden or even aforementioned burden for that matter. But seeing your videos (and all videos and stories in the past), i still understand the feelings. Even if i've never encountered the crisis of "end justifies means" or "feeling worthless", the segments existing in this video had me realizing their existence, they feel and are real. So despite me just being a lone college student sitting in front of his laptop lazily switching between playing games, doing journal editing, and listening to this valuable masterpiece, i've gained a lot more than i realized, so thank you for this! And also thank you for trudging through countless hard work spanning through months riddled with unimaginably mind-flaying editing app crashes. I pray nobody including you and me be subjected to such torture ever. Also your mid-monologue in the bathroom sections with the 4th wall breaking bits and the other bits are unbelievably entertaining. And if there's a voice somewhere close with you incessantly telling you "that can't be" "nah, i ain't that smart" or "impossible, that's just your egotistic imagination", just remember that most likely another one person in this same world that i am existing in has the opinion that your work is lower than canine excrements. Hopefully it makes that voice shut up, at least works for me.

I'm glad I was able to trap another person with Project Moon before subjecting them to a short* and concise* talk about ISAT! And as for Echo, I only played it after seeing it mentioned in a video essay, and I really don't know how to feel about it. For me, it's in a constant state of being extremely interesting and 'Wow, I'd like to play any other game, please!" Thank you for the comment! I'm currently working on the next video, and it should be out by the end of Feb. It's something short and sweet though, so don't expect a monster like this one. *Not short, nor concise.

hey pan "gmaing" here, about canto 6. Loved it. To me, it really felt like it could have stood as the finally to Limbus Company. I am a little disappointed with how the whole Heathcliff/Cathy thing wrapped up, since I don't know how removing Cathy would get rid of Erlking. But, I did thoroughly enjoy it, none the less. I'm also okay with not doing a dungeon, if they're just going to continue doing basically linear routes. I am VERY excited to see the events before the next main Canto, however. I mean I still can't believe the ID we're getting for Sinclair.

In Stars And Time is the type of game that will cause you to never feel the same again. And for some reason, it resonated with me in such a way to make a *way too long* video about it! Thank you for the comment, and I hope you enjoy Limbus Company!!! (Heathcliff's Canto 6 is actually insane. I still like Ishmael's story more, but Canto 6 feels like the finale to Limbus itself!)

I decided to wait to leave a comment after I had finished the video, and OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS AMAZING!!! I am absolutely shocked you have less than 1k subs because the quality of this is fantastic! The depths you went to in the video and your understanding of themes in the games you talked about are perfect. I had the fortune of playing through the entirety of In Stars And Time and START AGAIN: a prologue before watching this and this is really making me wanna do my second playthrough of ISAT again even sooner… I’m so happy I stumbled across your channel. Your summary of ISAT evoked the exact same feelings the game itself did and the work everyone put into the voice acting is wonderful. Absolutely beautiful work.

Two days ago I was at like 390 subs, so that's crazy... but I do wish it was for this video... oh well! I haven't played START AGAIN, but I did buy it! I'm just not sure I can handle it after spending a full month and a half just thinking about ISAT and making this video. It's amazing to hear that I was able to evoke the feelings that ISAT gave me, as, at the end of the day, that's what I set out to do. I think you can tell that as I was working on it, I realized the power of voice acting the game. If I went back, I'd do way more. Anyways, once again, thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

i decided to watch this after the chonny jash video (got ishmael jumpscared) and i honestly have no words to describe how great this video is. for the limbus company part, i like the message you got from canto v. it really showed how ishmael was slowly starting to mirror the person she wanted to kill by also believing that the ends justify the means. and for the in stars and time part, really scary how relatable siffrin became as the game progressed (not to mention we have the same pronouns). aside from that, i really enjoy the voice acting because it helped sell the mood of the scenes so well, and i also really enjoyed how the loop portion of isat was emphasized here. though i havent played isat yet, you really sold it for me. safe to say i'll be checking that game out in my spare time. overall great video, 10/10. additional 100 points for the bdg and limbus company mention

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! For something you "have no words to describe," you seem to do a pretty good job doing it! Limbus Company is just a banger of a game, and Canto V was great, and watching Ishmael succumb to her anxiety and need to kill Ahab was *very* enjoyable. I really do think that ISAT would not be as good or relatable as it is if it didn't force you to deteriorate through the loops, just like Siffrin. Yeah, I think the voice acting was pretty great for the video, as you can kinda tell since the last of the summary is mainly just voice acted parts. (It's also a really good show of how well the writing is!) The good news for you is that if you do play it, I left out a ton of stuff! I mean, the entire game is such a vibe, and I love it entirely. Thank you for the comment, and for checking out more than the Jash video! And for the comment length, don't worry about it. There's a ton to talk about when it's a 86 minute video! (And I love to read what people think about my work!) PS: When I was writing the script I really wasn't sure how he/they pronouns work? Do you just accept both? Should I be replacing him & his with them & theirs? I tried googling it but I couldn't find any solid answers. Sorry if this is over reaching, but I'm just curious!

@@Pan.Gaming for he/they pronouns, using either one or both works fine in my experience. i feel like most ppl who use two or more pronouns would be ok if you refer to them with either one of said pronouns, but some do prefer alternating between them (i.e. using he/him in one sentence and then using they/then in another). so really its a matter of whatever the person is comfortable with. in my case i don't really mind if you use just he/him or they/them.

oh hey, what a nice overlap! the first thing I did after seeing the end of ISAT is draw Siff in Da Capo ego gear (endless performance, black and white, 2 day time loop and 50 day time loop, eyepatch lines up well with the monocle ego gift, Siff is the conductor directing the circumstances by making sure everything goes well)
@yakineko6635
@yakineko6635 Ай бұрын
you know what I thought about this more and ayin is EXTREMELY "ends justify the means" but in kind of an opposite direction to Siff (spoilers of course) Ayin trapped his friends in a time loop (knowingly in his case) and put them in the framing of actors on a stage. While in Lobcorp, the script was actually necessary and the requirement for the loop to break, in ISAT it was kinda arbitrarily adhered to by Siff for the sake of comfort and familiarity and reliving a perfect journey. Only breaking the script let Siff break out. Ayin does.... a whole lot in order to cultivate the seed of light (so many deaths and human rights violations oh my god) but mostly to other people for the sake of other people. Siff's suffering is inflicted upon himself so their friends never have to leave. Of course, Ayin has his attachment to Carmen and Siff has their massive insecurities to fuel their actions. They come from similar motivations (holding on to the memory of the old lab/the journey) but go about their goals very differently also like loop and ayin both "made" alternate versions of themselves and watched as they went through the time loops over and over maybe Siff and X would get along

Really enjoyed the video. I personally felt that the last Unraveled video was a very good wrap up and agreed with the message. Taking a few examples, the Zelda food video was all about them making it and the chaos/failure of it, the actual ratings weren't really important in the video itself. The kingdom hearts video also doesn't have a conclusion, just "wow things get weird when you do a lot of retcon-ing. The Game of the Year video is just saying "no matter what other say, your game of the year can be anything you want" without any real conclusion. The best part of the pokerap presentation was the story he told before the song, and the song was a good wrap up but only a small portion of the presentation despite being the purpose. So while I was sad to see it end and wished it went out with a bang, that was a really good wrap up to the series. From what you said it kinda seems like you have a similar feeling about it now. Also holy crap I totally forgot Pokemon edibility was teased in the E3 drinking game episode. Crazy callback As for Limbus Company, I have that developer's first two games but I wanted to go through them in order and Lobotomy Company gives me so much stress that I'm still trying to get though it so I doubt I will ever get to playing Limbus. Didn't know it was a live service game though but really cool that they are still pumping out cool stories. Don't really have any opinions on the game itself past that. Really enjoyed listening to your experience with In Stars And Time. I really enjoy time loop stories that show the character being fully beaten down and destroyed by infinite iterations of the same short span of time. I think a time loop is perfect way to show this theme since it is able to show the same initial condition affected by different means since the main problem I have with the idea "the ends justify the means" is that such a mindset is very restrictive and narrow in what it defines as the end which leads to reaching the result but invalidating the gains because of side effects of the means. In this case, the king's death means very little to Siffrin despite it being the end you are working toward for most of the game, and in the final loop it would have been totally meaningless because they hadn't overcome their own problems and they would have lost the actual result they ultimately wanted. Something about time being the thing that can break someone the most thoroughly is always interesting to me. Since it is something that we can't even begin to imagine in our normal life I can't even imagine managing to cope with it. Something about these stories always makes me wish they would end terribly. Like the whole experience was so crushing for the character that they truly are unable to recover. So I thought, and this is only taking into context the parts of the story you said in the video and would make the relatability of the story go down as well as probably being less compelling and just random guesses as I was listening to the story, Siffrin turning into the king at the end wrapping the time loop into a causal loop. Kinda showing that even fully giving up wouldn't free them from this hell. Siffrin never being able to over come his problems locking him in the nested loops until an iteration is finally able to face the problems with the assistance of the player. Though I think I might just like watching characters suffer for the thematic significance. This comment is probably incoherent but after watching I had thoughts and just wanted to try and vomit them out there. I'll watch the Commentary soon

Oooo! I love reading what people have to say, and I've got things to say back! - On BDG, my perspective has changed from the beginning of the video, as, obviously, I had to go back and watch Pokémon Edibility. It really is a good finish to the Unraveled series. I do distinctly remember not liking the Zelda food video, because the whole rating were skewed due to the rushed nature of it. I might have to go back and watch through all of them again, to see how many were tainted by my view point. And, yes, Pokémon Edibility was in the E3 video (which I loved enough to buy the shirt). I wonder if he was getting pestered to do Pokémon Edibility before the E3 video and put that in as a joke, or if that joke caused people to want him to cover Pokémon Edibility. Personally, I was hoping for a Pokémon Edibility because of the E3 video. (Also, on BDG's channel, from the 'building your online brand' video, one of the points Hugh Brandity makes is that if you were to tweet about how much you like ice cream sandwiches, expect people to constantly talk about ice cream sandwiches to you. Is this a reference to him making the Pokémon Edibility joke, resulting in people begging him for that video?) - On Project Moon, I would heavily suggest playing Limbus Company as soon as possible. It really won't spoil much (until the 4.5 SEA mini story) for either game, and you'll need to check in each day, since it's a mobile game. We're talking having an energy bar, weekly currency handouts, and just a ton of things you'll want to start stockpiling ASAP. For Lob Corp and Library, I would suggest playing them in order. But, 100% pull up the wiki for Lob Corp, specifically for the abnormalities. You'll have a significantly better time if you get a new guy and just read "Any Agent who is Level 4 or lower and tries to work with it will Panic instantly." Just don't read anything under spoilers, and just the abnormalities pages. As for Library, maybe, *maybe* try some quality of life add-ons. You don't need too, but it might help you maintain sanity. And remember to take breaks. You might get an hour into a fight, just for you to lose on a die roll. (And, also, Limbus Company's combat is just a heavily simplified version of Library.) - On In Stars And Time, I think it's very interesting how Siffrin's mindset changes through the game. Every time he does something he thought would end the loop, he spirals while laying in that field. But, every time, Sif talks with Loop, they're able to come up with a new goal. Even at the start of the loops, Siffrin literally thinks, "As long as I have something to aim for, I'm fine." (Paraphrasing, I'm not going to go find the quote.) So, Sif moves from killing the king, to getting to know the party, to (redacted 3rd thing), to looking into more about wishcraft/timecraft, and finally back to what started this. Killing the King. Sif really isn't any different from the start, other then that they are failing to hide their feelings. - SPOILERS FOR PARTS OF ISAT I DIDN'T COVER: You want a bad ending to a time loop story? Ha! The biggest part I didn't mention can be summarized in two words: The Country. An entire island north of Vaugarde 'disappeared' in the past years. Well... it didn't really disappear. No one can remember anything about The Country or anything that comes from it. Guess who's from The Country? Siffrin and The King. The King wants to freeze Vaugarde to make sure nothing ever happens to it. Quite a lot of Siffrin's concerns come from the fact that they don't know who they are. Most of what I cut out is discovering things about the King, about Siffrin, and about the Country. If you wondered why I say things like "read a book you couldn't before," it's because Siffrin gains a memory to read things written in their language. And time for the other major cut content. Who do you think Loop is? Why would Loop say that weird thing during the skipping dialogue cutscene? What was that cutscene at the start of the game? I go over some of these things in the Directors Commentary. So you'll have a better idea of what I'm getting at here if you listen to that instead of laying it all out here. Overall, thank you so much for the comment! You might call it incoherent, but I call it passionate. I'm just glad I was able to spark such thoughts, and I hope my words aren't insanely rambly.

What a lovely video I never did finish reading Moby dick. Really trying to wring out from the grey slop in my head the thoughts I got from this. I think that the looping narrative and the care you put into trying to convey how the story makes you feel and how it felt to you was really captivating. It felt a bit more than an essay like a real heartfelt expression of how you experienced the game and I feel that came across even for someone whos never played either and only dabbled in a little bit of lobotomy corp. Kind of unrelated as a person who's studies history for most of my education it was really interested seeing this interpretation of the ends justify the means in contrast to my normal associations with it. Excited to listen to the directors commentary and I think I remember seeing the sifrin plush go up on makeship a while back that sucks you missed it, a person bereft of plush is a grievous site indeedy.

One must imagine pan happy. Happy your glad about it since clearly alot of time and effort was put into expressing it and it shows. If im honest I think the biggest gut punch a game has ever given me was the ending of pokemon mystery dungeon and if we go by playtime broadly my gaming experience has been learning foreign insults and comiting acts most unspeakable in rimworld so maybe im not the best barometer for emotional games so I think its particularly nice how you got your point across. If I can be candid in geography and history particularly iv'e come across it normally in the context of stuff like industry and progression or sometimes culture. Like since its the history period ive studied most world war 2 and the greatest example of the ends justify the means is the industrialization of the Soviet union at a massive human cost or for a later point the great leap forward in China. With a grain of salt since ive never really studied the period the shift from I believe the more old school army and culture of japan to the imperial Empire that came after. maybe that was too long of a spiel but hopefully it was interesting but yeah I normally consider It on a much wider scale because of where my interests lie other wise a little bit of self flagelation cant go awry sometimes. Maybe I missed the point of the question and gave too long an answer but anywho again a lovely video ill be sure to get around to watching the card game one to

I would love to hear why Dongran is on your top list, not that I can't see why but I'd like to know your opinion on him, I feel like he doesn't get that much love from the community
@Pan.Gaming
@Pan.Gaming 4 ай бұрын
Why is Dongrang on my top characters list? To start, he hits a personal niche of character types I enjoy. Everyone listed at 3:56 (which are Dongrang, Rasmus, Viper, Maestro, Medic, and Caustic) shows my preference for characters who have an air of superiority as well as being scientists (which are all of them minus Maestro). But if we want to talk about Dongrang specifically, I love the moral decay of his character as we learn about him and Yi Sang. He used to care. A lot. I don't remember the specifics of the cow situation, but we know he cares so deeply that he still thinks and wonders if that cow would remember him today. But during the rising tension in league of nine, Dongrang is given an out: he could tell T Corp about the Glass Mirror, and get a comfy job at K Corp. He starts to lose his old self, finding that the world doesn't care. And while he works at K Corp, he really starts to become numb. He doesn't really care about anyone else anymore. In order to do well at K Corp, he needs to ignore himself. We see that he doesn't care that much about Samjo or Shrenne. But as Canto 4 goes on, Dongrang is forced to remember what he used to be because of the living history piece that is Yi Sang. And because of this, Dongrang tries to clear up some of his past. It's revealed in the dungeon that Dongrang told Dongbaek that he was the one that ratted out the group, as she was dying. The thoughts about that cow came back. And seeing that the cow wouldn't recognize him was what Dongrang needed to see that he is a just a husk of his former self, and that's what pushes him over the edge. He needs to kill Yi Sang to finally break away from his former self. To start anew. To escape the shadows of the League... I guess I just really enjoy the display of his character, and the idea of losing yourself to get ahead in life is an interesting one. And, I feel like he deserved more as a character. Everyone talked about Dongbaek's fight, since it was kinda difficult at the time, and, yet, Dongrang was a pushover? I think? I really don't remember anything about his fights because they were such a pushover. I mean the Yi Sang cutscene was amazing, but the Dongrang deserved more than that. And, also, I just love his monologues. Not just how he talked to Dante, knowing he couldn't actually respond, but also how he talks to Dongbaek (and how he stabs Dongbaek with the Bough). "Ah, innocence... No words are as embarrassing as that."

LET'S GO POINT BY POINT! 1) yeah, you got me. Ishmael at this point isn't an actual child, but there's a huge difference between the current Ishmael (before or after Canto 5) and the Pequod Ishmael. I think I was blinded by Ishmael being my favorite character, and I started calling them pet names or something???? IDK. 2) I am very glad you specified the Shaking My Harpoons bit, I was never good and understanding Ryōshū's abbreviations. 3) I considered very early on to give up doing the music box, since the amount of looping and going through the same bits might have gotten repetitive. But, the moments where like 5 cards pop up back to back was so funny to me, I had to keep doing it. (Even if it did require me to shift my ENTIRE PROJECT AROUND) Also, both of those clips have mention fighting the miniboss and I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE MUSIC, ARGH!!!! Gonna have to delete the video. 4) I have no comment about 42:02, other than I tried to keep it short. 5) Haha, we don't like fictional character around here!!! We would never connect with fictional characters!!! 6) Part 5: That was a really intense moment and I don't know how to follow that up, except by doing a hard cut 7) Not sure what the timestamp has to do with this comment, but I'm glad you like this video! :) 8) THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS VERY PERSONAL TO ME, I HAD TO PUT AN "I WOULD KNOW" SOMEWHERE 9) Haha! Dragged you in with the Limbus Company and trapped you in a time loop to watch the ISAT segment! 10) When I wrote the script, I wasn't even sure if I was just making stuff up with the hat bit, since I really like Siffrin's look with the hat more than without the hat. But, as I replayed the game, I kept note of every time I saw Siffrin use the hat to hide themself. So, yeah... sorry Siffrin your fit is heavily related to the plot.... sorry.... 11) I knew I had to put color back into the video, but maybe popping it back on screen wasn't the best idea. 12) Month and a half, I'd say. But yeah... And are you saying a month and a half isn't a long time project???? That's like an eternity to work on the same project every day?!?! 13) bestie, this video bombed the first two days. I really thought all my work was to be hidden away forever, since it only got like 30 views in the first day. I am just so happy that it's finally doing, well, anything. And I really don't care about the views or the subs, but the comments. I love to see that my video meant enough to someone that they actually took the effort to type something. 14) wow. you did it. pacific siffrim will be trapped in my head forever. 15) hi. :3 why does the new Meursault ID have so many words on it, I thought we were done with that after Ahab Ishmael (which would have been an amazing thing to bring up to show the parallels between Ahab and Ishmael, but that didn't come out until recently when I was almost done with the video) Overall, thank you for the comment! You're like the only person who's even mentioned the music box cards, and I'll try to give them a little break next time! And I'm glad you really enjoyed the video. I can't handle the mental toll watching my own video essay would do to me (I'd see 1,000 more things I'd want to change), so having someone post timestamps is helpful!

It's not that the ends can't justify the means. It's that you don't know what the ends will truly be when on the middle of it. And to top it all off, the means are part of the ends, largely in the form of unforeseen and foreseen consequences. "The ends justify the means" isn't untrue, it's just a reckless mentality.
