Edit: faruzan can be used before Bennet and still get full uptime, to allow Bennet to get more uptime

Faruzan C2 onwards has 18 seconds of burst uptime, and her burst's effect lasts for 4 seconds, so realistically it lasts for 22 seconds. So she actually has the longest uptime in Xiao teams. And considering she has a 20 seconds cooldown just like Furina, she should be used before everyone else. Ofcourse specifically with Furina, Benny, Faru, her being last for Furina stacks is better but everywhere else her burst first is almost better.

I already had Furina, I got Xianyun because I love Diluc, I got C6 Faruzan by getting Xianyun (I had her at C1), and somehow I got an early Jade spear in the standard banner with the wishes I got after leveling Xianyun. I guess I will become a Xiao main now.

Correction: C6 Faruzan doesn't need to be the last in the rotation. Her burst will last until the end of Xiao's burst. She can be even the 2nd in the rotation, cuz the last trig of her burst buff will continue, even if it ends the cooldown.

could you please share your build? i just got him after years of choosing other characters on the joint banners (which i regretted) and i just wanna play him tbf. i have xianyun, c1 furina and unfortunately i have a c0 faruzan because i am very unlucky with her (the only time i got her was when she was free on the sumeru event). i have him with homa lv83 7/6/8 for now and i switch between marechausee and vermilion. i’d appreciate any tips)

this is quite realistic if you hyper invest. I have c0 xianyun, c4 bennet and c6 faru, i dont have furina, and im hitting 100k plunges in abyss with 98 crit rate.

i just want to add that players should normal attack to cancel the plunge with spear users, that lets you get faster plunges. other than that, very in-depth. great vid!

On that note too, while Yelan isn't an ideal teammate you'll get off her hydro attacks by doing the attack canceling after your plunge, making her an okay Furina alternative in the Triple Anemo comp.

i agree with you saying xiao > wanderer for abyss content. i value his aoe more than wanderer’s ease of use. dps-wise my calcs placed them VERY similarly prior to xianyun, but with the release of xianyun, i’m seeing higher dps from the xiao team

Faruzans stuff at c2 actually lasts 22 seconds so its the biff witht the longest uptime in xiao teams and thus can be used at the start of the rotation. For pre c2 however yeah, you generally want to use it last

The problem with pre c6 faruzan is she doesnt apply ress shred concistantly her burst the thingy that goes around is what applies the ress shred if you have c6 you get the ress shred by hitting an enemy with an anemo atk further more you get allot more er from it you can run faruzan on 200 er so you can run tenacity aswell which is another 20% atk your xiao er also becomes way more manageable this is excluding the crit dmg c6 faruzan does allot more than it says

i presonally would like hoyo to continue making characters that support old characters that have fallen off a bit like Cr and shenhe its a good way to keep old players summoning for something new without having to bench thier trusty main dps characters, expensive teams aren't bad if they are still top tier it only becomes an issue when they are both expensive and mediocre

great video. A couple of missed points, 1) faruzan (especially after c2) has really long uptime and can be used as the first one in the rotation to max uptime on other buffs. 2) Xianyun decreases the value of attack, making homa/marichause/anemo goblet all better than their attack counterparts. 3) your plunges are slow, there's no need to get to the full height of his jump to get high plunge damage. Also, I think you underrated his power level. This is more of an opinion and I get that he's locked behind a c6 faruzon, 2 5 star charichters, and 5star weapons, but if you have those his power is very very high for a c0.

Yea on best teams on all dps, xiao is now the best anemo carry and only below Alhaitham, Neuv, and arguably Hutao. I’d still say Triple Anemo still better at AOE than hutao.

One thing that’s nice about this team is that all of the supports pretty much have the same cooldowns and uptime so rotations are really flexible. If your Xianyun is using TTDS like mine then I recommend using Furina’s E, Faruzan’s E and Q, Furina Q, then Xianyun E and Q. This way you drain the most amount of health with Furina’s skill, squeeze out more uptime from Furina ult and have a little more time to stack fanfare, use TTDS, and still get a lot of uptime on Faruzan’s burst since her res shred lingers for a few seconds after each one of her burst ticks. This rotation will also give you a little more uptime on noblesse if you’re running it on your Xianyun (Edit: this is assuming your Faruzan is C2+)

My favorite Genshin's creator finally made video about my favorite main. What a surprise before re-run banner. All the truth about greatest lament. Agree, Xiao is all about making all pieces work togehter. So far I need 4 constellations to achieve final form as a walkin spender. It is worth to mention that Bennett is still most comfortable pick aside Furina, Xiao alongside Xianyun and C6 Faruzan goes brrr.

I recently pulled the Primordial Jade Winged Spear via standard banner. The issue is that I already use hypercarry Wanderer with Lost Prayers, C6 FARUZAN, and FURINA for fanfare buff. YET again, I also pulled C1 XIANYUN for a niche Yae/Nahida aggravate team. The universe is telling me to pull for Xiao 😅 still thinking if he's worth the primogems for my account, given that Arlecchino and Natlan characters are soon to be released later this year... You don't need xiao even if you have Xianyan and C6 faruzan. It's not worth to build him.

Let me tell you that Xiao's definitely gonna be worth for you.I got just C6 Faruzen and Furina(Jean as the healer) and he deals 80k per plunge.And my Xiao build is mediocre at best with an atk% goblet cuz I dont have a good anemo goblet.Imagine how much you can deal with Xianyun if you get Xiao.I hope this helps.

I've only just started playing again after 2 years (my phone couldn't handle the game at the time and I only just got it installed on my steamdeck.) I have found the best rotation is: Furina Skill Faruzan Ult Xianyun Skill Furina Ult Xianyun Ult Furina Skill has the most uptime, with 30 secs Faruzan after C2 effective uptime is 22 seconds, so it's actually the second longest lasting buff. Xianyun Skill has 20 seconds of uptime, while her ult has only 16, so you can actually use stuff in the middle and still get the most uptime out of both Furina's Ult has 18 seconds uptime. When you get to Xianyun, you will have around 15-16 seconds of uptime in everything, and also get the most uptime out of the vv shred because her ult swirls, which I think is the ideal scenario. I have been using this rotation with Heizou because I don't have Xiao yet, and it feels way better, and everything ends at almost the same time. EDIT: I found a comment talking about how Faruzan's Ult atually has 22 seconds uptime after C2 and it's right. I tested it and it felt even better than what I had before (Faruzan ult after Furina) Credits to @Feliopepoffo

Thanks for mentioning Xinxiu in Xiao. People just don’t know that Xinxiu actually works pretty well with Xiao. 5:24 When Xiao burst is down he can use Xinxiu burst and do normal attacks. Also the burst provides resistance to Xiao while plunging and can weave in a atttack while plunging also.

I have Furina, Xianyun, and just got C6 Faruzan so I hope I’m able to use Xiao now. I got him last year, I was still pretty new to the game but loved Xiao after doing the Lantern Rite quest, so I really wanted to get him, even after losing the 50/50 yo Jean I worked hard to get him. I haven’t been that dedicated to getting a character ever since so the fact that I haven’t used him much at all due to not liking his playstyle and not having a good team for him always made me feel sad. But I have good characters for him now, I just have to build them and try them out! :D

I've used Xiao on 2pc vv 2pc atk%, tenacity Zhongli, thrilling Sucrose, and Bennett, for years at this point. I do 70k+ plunge in large aoe and have 36*d every single abyss with a Xiao team aside from weird air enemy halves. He is double crowned, 97cr with like 180 or 190cd and sig weapon so well invested. But know you do NOT need all of these ceiling units for him to work well and feel good.

For dps output is better to use Sucrose/Xiangling. But it still can be fun with Faruzan (Anemo shred isn't so significant as 60% crit dmg at C6, but do the work), especially with Tenacity of Millelith to additonally buff your Xiao.

Glad to see you covering my favorite character. I got Xiao in his last run with Alhaitham and R5’d his weapon. Furina I acquired pretty early and pulled her weapon as well. I managed to get Xianyun and her weapon as well as C6 Faruzan on this banner. Extremely hyped to see my favorite character finally dealing damage comparable to my C2 Raiden/C6 Sara and my Neuv/Furina teams. Dishing out 120k on average with his burst plunges which I’m still working on increasing but I’m so happy he’s finally back in the spotlight!

For those who still wnt to use Faruzan pre c6 like I did, just use emblem on her + fav bow and ER sands, it will fix her energy needs. This is specifically for those who don't have any better supports cuz even before c6 she still buffs anemo dmg and high ER helps battery xiao too

2pc exile also exists! People forget about it bc it's a 4* set but it's good if you need more er since the only 5* 2pc er set is emblem. Assuming you get good er rolls, the value you get from the 2pc is bigger than the loss from using a 4 stay set. That's what i use on my faruzan

xiao was my first limited 5 star DPS, I will get anything for him, older teams for him did struggle a bit but I did 36 star with him in every abyss since patch 2.0. getting C6 Faruzan sure is a key to make him perform better, and Xianyun do give him a great buff and better heal, as for Furina she finally found good use in my account as I was so disappointed by her cause i did not have any of the fontaine DPS and she did not add much a value before this patch.

I've had Xiao since he released and he was awesome as an account's first 5* (every character is) but Hu Tao quickly surpassed him. I really like his playstyle but I have definitely felt the pain of low-investment Xiao just not feeling good, especially next to one of if not the strongest DPS in the game who also is fairly low-investment to get the majority of her potential (c1 and homa are pretty easy goals to achieve tbh, and her supports are universally good so you want to pick them up on any account anyways). I've felt similarly about Eula, and I love both Eula's and Xiao's playstyles so I have always wanted to make them work, and I am glad that Xiao has gotten so many upgrades over the past year. I was on hiatus when Furina came out so I missed her and have to catch a rerun, but I got Xianyun easily and will work on c6 Faruzan over time so its nice to see that Xiao finally has the tools to be a nice project to work on :)

albedo is good with xiao, furina, xianyun, cause he have very long skill aswell giving u crystal which u don't need to spend time to refresh ur skill, and it feels very nice cause xiao long onfield make sheilder duration isn't reliable furina also buff albedo, so his additional damage if nice u build albedo properly too

15:23 It's worth noting that Xiao's Normals are significantly more important than his burst. Normals >> Burst > Skill. Crowning his Normals increases the scaling by 7.6% on almost all his damage (though this will he watered down somewhat if you're playing with Xianyun's flat dmg buff). Meanwhile crowning his burst gives 4.5% DMG Bonus, or a single substat's worth. Even when he only has the DMG bonus in his base kit, that's just a 2.2% damage increase. With Furina and an Anemo goblet it falls to 1.5%.

Mmm i think you should use faruzan first in rotation since her burst duration is 18, but shred res last 4 seconds so its 22 in total. Then furina, her burst last 18 seconds and lastly xianyun

Its really up to you actually, i used c3 faruzan since wanderer's first banner and she's still buffs xiao. As far i can remember im still hitting 100k per plunge without faruzan's c6 (my xiao is well invested btw)

xiao physical with Xianyun is very comfy in overworld. Cuz its insta great dmg without relying on both ults. 4pc shima also works really well on xiao this way.

I was using R1 deathmatch on him for years until I just wished for pjws (I got lucky thank god). if you have the pulls/are ok losing to yae’s weapon then I suggest wishing for pjws but otherwise I believe most people would say deathmatch is slightly better than blackcliff (though I would check the keqingmains damage calculations to know for sure as I’m going off memory). though there’s always the chance of getting pjws from standard, I waited for years and never got it so being able to guarantee it on the banner was the best option for me - I already have furina/xianyun/c6 faruzan so I felt comfortable using the wishes for his weapon to finally max him out

Yes, furina is insanely good. Also that faruzan c6 is really important for higher damage, sadly. Xiao doesn’t need Xianyun, but xianyun is good healer for furina and they both synergize with xiao

question: I have homa and pjws but my pjws is r2. I have furina, faruzan (c6), and jean that I was likely going to make his main team. I already have good pieces for hunter from farming for lyney, neuvi, and furina, so would it be a significant enough dmg loss to use pjws instead of homa with that set? it looks too good and homa is on raiden (I'm lazy and don't want to have to constantly swap weapons if I can avoid it)

In this abyss i used C0 xiao C6 faruzan C4 jean and a c0 xianyun and was doing 130k upto 155k was the max i saw was honestly surprised and it frees up bennet and furina for other teams that needed them more

Yes Xiao is stronger in both situations. Wanderer can still compare to Xiao thanks to Reset Imppact in Abyss though.

F2p xiao user here. If you don't have xianyun, farzuna or furina he will do max 30k (good enough if you ask me)( he is on white tassle so will do more with better wepons)
