It's so funny how you can learn great tips just from watching someone sew. I saw how you quickly removed your pins on to the bed of your sewing machine and then......you brought your magnetic pin holder to the pins, turned it over and....viola....all the pins were picked up. It was one of those "duh" moments for me because I always pick them up and put them on the pin holder. Thank you!

Just remembered that I have two small jelly rolls from a sew sampler box. I never used them, because I didn't like the pastel colors. This will be a great way to use them for a quilt for someone who likes those colors! Sometimes you have to stitch out of your comfort zone to make someone happy! It looks like I'll be making two of these: a Christmas one for me and a cute one for a mystery recipient. Thanks Kimberly and FQS!

Never thought I would starch a jelly roll, but gave it a shot this time and SO HAPPY 😀. Worked 👍🏼 great. Also, one of my least favorite things about precuts, jelly rolls in particular, are the pinked edges and figuring out if you use the top or bottom of peak, it can be different each time. Glad to see someone else cutting them to size, thought it was just me.

Dear Kimberly: Your expertise and the way you are so precise matches my ethics so I just love your style on your videos. They are Super Fantastic! I've learned more from you in the last 4 weeks of watching than with anyone else. I've got two out of the 4 blocks done for Week 4 and have they other 2 ready to pin and sew tomorrow. Impeccable! Thank you so much, Kimberly!

I'm still waiting for the finished product to start! Hahaha!! I'm so picky about where my colors are that I'm afraid once I get to the final step, things will just look wrong. I'm REALLY fun at spontaneous parties... If by "fun" you meaning "hiding in the bathroom." ;)

I am learning so much from watching this video! I usually don’t do any traditional piecing because it never turns out right. Now I see some things I do wrong. Starch is 1 thing....carefully pinning is another. But most of all is how gently Kimberly handles the blocks! And of course clipping the threads! My EPP quilt has machine piecing sashing and the back is a huge royal mess of threads!

I bought my jelly roll from FQS but after it was starched, it is barely 2.5 inches. I used the same starch and method Kimberly does. Any suggestions? I am looking to do a project also with Honey Bun rolls and was wondering if I should starch them as well.

I saw some at Joanns for Brothers and Singers, and even a couple "universal" unbranded 1/4" inch foot, so I guess it depends on the type of connection a Janome uses

Stephannie Marquette I’m pretty new to sewing but my Janome uses snap-on feet. The feet have a side-to-side groove and I lower the shank (?) and the bar snaps into the groove. I hope I explained that well enough.

Debbie Brugman I have really enjoyed making this MYSTERY quilt and was looking forward to next week’s final layout. That is until a few minutes ago. I had not gone to the instagram once to look at other peoples blocks. Today I decided to do that. What I found was very sad. Why? Because some people had sewen their blocks together (which is great) but they also felt the need to post photos of their completed quilt tops and ruin the SURPRISE layout for me and I’m sure a few others. It is supposed to be a MYSTERY! A SURPRISE! That’s why quilters join in these things. It’s a MYSTERY quilt-a-long. We don’t want to know. We don’t “peek”. Why is it some feel the need to be first? So, if you want to still be surprised for next week’s layout stay away from instagram. My humble opinion.
