A doctor told me once you feel too much, I said so does GOD that's why u can see the Grand Canyon from the moon. I saw that written in a book in a tea house when I was 15 with your name underneath and it saved my life, I've lived thru that quote for the last 7 years. I didnt know there was an entire spoken word poem that went with it, and i am in tears. Thank you Andrea Gibson, your words touched me in ways throughout the years that no others have understood. To find out it wasnt just a quote, but a full poem all these years later has me in tears. Your art is beautiful.

That's amazing. What does that line mean to you? I have this poem memorized; I adore it, but I can never attach any possible meaning to that line. I just don't know how to interpret it.
@bouncingbean2 жыл бұрын
@@noone-re3zp I’m not the original commenter, but that line speaks to me too. Here are a few fragments of how I would describe what it means to me: Feeling too much isn’t a flaw, it’s the purpose. God is the sum of everything we mortals feel & have ever felt & ever will feel. Our emotions are what connect us to each other and to the world beyond ourselves. The Grand Canyon is astonishing and beautiful, a scar carved across the world by the steady unstoppable flow of a river (of tears), a scar too improbably huge & awesome to reasonably exist, but too immense to deny.

@@bouncingbeanwow...looks like Andrea is not the only one here with such gift of words. Your interpretation helped me to understand more deeply. Not just the poem, but perhaps myself as well. Going to sit with that for a while. Hopefully you share your gifts with others. ❤

"Wonder if the wrecking ball was trying to run its fingers soft across the bricks but its head was just too heavy?" I liked that part a lot. I wonder why. Why did God bring my eyes to cry. Why I listened to each and every lie? Why? Did he bring me you? Someone I thought I trusted so brand new. Someone as beautiful to brake me. Someone as beautiful that I yearn to see. Why? Did he make me fall in love with you? Someone that broke me never to be new. Someone as bright as the Goddess sun. Someone that tore me never to be undone. Why? Did he tempt me with a heart?

This is great. I'm loving it. I clicked the link to this because I was particularly interested in the title, though. Have you read the novel Ishmael?
