I remember watching all these PSAs at the end of the Jem and The Holograms and i watched every episode from 1985-1988. Every morning before i went to school, i watched Jem at 7 A.M This was when cartoons taught you wrong from right and had a lesson. I loved growing up in the 80s. I still watch the reruns

My aunt wouldn't let my young second cousin watch the cartoon till I showed her these. She was old world Italian and was terrified that she would become rebellious, promiscuous, into drugs, yadda, yadda. I taped the episodes for my cousin after checking out a few episodes and since my aunt for some reason trusted my opinion implicitly, she finally let her watch the show but she kept all the tapes I made for her and now that she has grown up, she purchased the DVD set for her kids so they would learn the morals from the same show she loved so much. She never got into any of the things her grandmother (who raised her) was worried about has 3 beautiful kids and became a family counselor. I loved that the story had the look of the punk bands of the 80's but had the basis of doing good, having compassion, the band primarily used the money to care for foster kids...you get the picture. I called it, affectionately, Candy Punk because of the positive messages it promoted and the PSA's like these were the icing on the cake as far as my aunt was concerned when I was convincing her that my cousin could only benefit from the series. It was a great idea to have a show with the girl power angel too. I recall a Barbie that once said, "Math is hard!" and I thought, great move...lets just make all girls feel like having the double X chromosomes means they must be stupid. My guess was that someone with a Y chromosome had the idea to make a doll so popular with little girls say something so destructive to their self confidence! Then again, that was decades ago. Thankfully that's not an idea that's pushed AS hard on girls these days.

Otaking Mikohani They were included as extras on the 2004 DVD since that was made from the 35mm film. The 2011 DVD has them in the exact placement since they used the broadcast tapes of the episodes. Commercials for new episodes, coming next, next week... are normally never included with episodes for TV shows. I agree with you they are very fun for Jem.

Some actually did....there was a crossover appeal to Jem & The Holograms when the show was on originally. Hell, I saw some brief clips of that show when it was on the Atlantic Satellite Network in Atlantic Canada(Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada to be specific) when they aired it there(though I felt like wanting to yank Pizzazz and Roxy out of my TV and kick the shit out of them for being cunts, but that's another story XD). By the way, the above channel was abbreviated ASN, but is now called CTV Two Atlantic. It's owned by a company called Bell Media, a part of Bell Canada Enterprises. CTV Two Atlantic is based at 2885 Robie St., in Halifax, Nova Scotia, while CTV's national operations are based in Toronto, Ontario, at 9 Channel Nine Court in that city's Scarborough region.
