I love how karkat is the perfect example of how non-godtier classpect "powers," work. Everyone i talk to wants to shoot lazers and f**k with time (and ther is nothing wrong with that, spinfoiling how classpects work is always a fun excersize), but what the character provides in filling out the story structure is just as, if not more, valid.

Ikr, powers that alter with feelings can be way stronger than more physical powers, for example princes! they can easily render you exposed to attacks depending on the aspect (Ex Rage, Heart, Hope)

Those above have good points but i also meant the subtlety as well, if karkat was god tier he could wave his hand and offer a gameplay buff that offered dave the same peace of mind, but because he isn't he embodies his classpect through his actions to bolster the depth of the story As for rogue of heart, nepeta wasn't god tier but she took how we felt about her and transposed it on to equius, revealing a vulnerable side to a musclebound freak of nature with several fetishes

I've always assumed Karkat would still have the lifespan of a Lime blood despite his blood being a different color visually. So I always thought he'd live longer than Sollux's caste and die before Nepeta's.

My theories about karkat and dave and lifespan stuff is as follows; 1.) Optimistically, there was a lot of referencing and mentioning how Karkat ISN’T godtier, all the while he simultaneously does exactly what his classpect expects him to, Uniting people and making bonds. So, theoretically, because Homestuck is known for its spontaneity; What if Karkat does die, as this conversation referenced- and then he went Godtier? We don’t know if people can go godtier in Homestuck2 yet, after all. There’s really no telling. And with rose and dirk preparing to “start a new session”? Who knows what could happen. 2.) pessimistically. Karkat or dave just die. No strings attached. No joyous revivals. Nothing like that. Now, granted, I don’t see the current team killing two especially popular fan-favorites, especially the two fan-favorites that are also, coincidently, the only versions of themselves we can observe right now that still have proper bodies and aren’t either robots or extremely sad and spiraling- But they might. We don’t know yet. I just know I will be absolutely WRECKED if karkat and dave die ): i cherish them )): 3.) now we’re getting to the semi-optimistic / semi-pessimistic concept. Karkat does die. But he doesn’t die in the timeline they discussed him dying in- he dies in candy. After all, in Candy, Karkat is not only running a rebellion, but things are beginning to hit the fan, and Jane is livid with the death of Gamzee, a trophy to her. So he’s walking on thin ice. 4.) another optimistic concept to leave us off before I finally post this comment; Karkat does die. He can’t die, not naturally anyways. That’s the whole theory. Karkat is a mutant- the only other two candy bloods we’ve seen has been the Signless, and Kankri. Signless was executed, he didn’t die of natural causes. Kankri also didn’t die by natural causes. So.. who’s to say that mutant, candy bloods just don’t die by natural causes? What if them not dying by natural causes is a part of the reason the Condesce demanded the eradication of candy bloods? Because she was envious of their permanent lifespans, something that even she didn’t have. Sure, she was naturally able to live a very long time due to being a highblood, and sure, she was granted immortality by lord English- but that still didn’t save her. She still died. She wanted to live forever. So it’d make sense that she’d want to kill a mutant bloodline that CAN live as long as she wanted to. Envy and all that. ok that’s all my theories have fun rolling these about in ur heads. do note these r just personal theories im not like saying they’re 100% possible it’s just stuff that came to mind while reading this update

My babies. These last couple of updates have actually been pretty damn good! Karkat and Dave were always at their best when they were airing out their thoughts, imho, so this feels like a refreshing callback into the past. I do worry that this whole thing is foreshadowing, though. If we are going back into the roots of what made Homestuck, well, Homestuck, a lot of it was a fuckton of easy "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" foreshadowing. Especially during Act 5. But at the same time, it was also foreshadowing in ways we didn't expect? Like how Vriska's the one who talked about tearing out her heart, but Aradia and Dirkbot are the ones that actually followed through.

The life ring's just this weird as long as you have it you're full of life/eternally alive the second you lose it you're just dead again? It's another thing that super weird and never explained. As for whoever played the game to make the troll's universe originally I figred it was usually a case of "one planet in your universe will have a species that plays the game to continue the cycle of Sburb" the 2 troll sessions, the 2 human sessions and the cherub session are conected only because of LE's interferance. As far as anything I care to consider canon (until proven otherwise) the Game Over timeline Earth is the one that became the cherub sessions start. Heck maybe that's why Dirk considers everything "non-canon" his idea of canon is LE's canon. A HIC ruled second Earth with Dave's shitty Liberty statues and The Meteor crashed on it has to go under to become the start of LE's existance if that doesn't happen nothing else will either.
