Chanel wasn't planning on changin the bronzer. However one of the ingredients was banned by the EU and they had to change the product consi they are a Europe based brand. The EU has lot more chemicals banned then other countries and they are always adding to the list.

This is true the EU consumers are more educated and less tolerant about certain chemicals. Also with the variety of climate in Europe formulas vary, for example NIVEA in France would have a different formula than in Canada. Canada is also stricter about ingredients, especially with sunscreen.

So annoyed by brands using coconut oil in products! Coconut oil used to be used as a makeup remover so why does it make sense to use it in high quantities in makeup. No wonder people were saying the new Chanel bronzer is breaking up their foundation. Thanks for the thorough review!

I love the Tarte Breezy bronzer, it's fantastic both in formula and in color on my fair to light skin! I like it way more than the Fenty cream bronzers (they're more greasy) but for some reason the Tarte isn't getting nearly as much hype! Loved this video Jena! 💕🤗

That's a great point about the product size and Chanel actually being cheaper per gram. However, cream products typically expire in a year so I think I would prefer the lower price point. And as somebody pointed out, Tarte is sure to run a 20% coupon at some point. Thanks for this video Jena!

Jena that’s a great dupe video. It’s a product I was interested in- the old version. I’m very happy with the Tarte products I have tried. I doubt I would get thru the whole Tarte cream bronzer before hitting the toss by date. Cream products are ones I am careful. And I prefer a cooler tone. I think the Tarte side looks just a bit nicer in how it looks blended out.

Great comparison. Chanel pulls so orange on me so I just could never keep it. I’ve been using Tom Fords bronzer because it pulls cooler but it’s sooo expensive! I will most definitely try the tarts once I use up my Tom Ford. Thank you.

I have both the old formula Chanel bronzer and the new Tarte cream bronzer too. I'm going to try this experiment too!! It scares me because the Chanel is way too orange for me ... I've worn it maybe 3 times. It looks nice on my vanity (an expensive oops on my part) I just got the Tarte so haven't tried yet. If its a little more cool I might be able to use it.

The Chanel Soleil De Tan product is not even available on Chanel’s website it’s always sold out. I’ve been trying to purchase it but no luck. I purchased the Tarte cream bronzer and I love it! I will definitely purchase the Tarte cream bronzer again.

I’ve had my Chanel bronzer for forever I don’t think I could ever possibly hit pan on that thing lol! I do love how weightless it is and how well it blends but it definitely is a little orange on my skin but nothing I can’t make work. Why Chanel would mess with something that so many people love is beyond me!

I don't see a huge difference on me and i also notice zero problems with my skin when it come to the Chanel bronzer. It is really personal preference. But great to see the comparison you did. :-)

Did you say the Chanel bronzing cream is comedogenic? I don't believe it is? At least the Les Beiges version isn't. Chanel are very careful to make their products non-comedogenic in general and I have very sensitive skin and make s point of looking for this on packaging.

I rarely look at price per gram because like you, I rarely hit pan because I own too much makeup. I have the Chanel cream bronzer and rarely use it. It is not pigmented enough for my medium olive skin tone. I think it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that Chanel only has one so called "universal" shade and it doesn't even work on medium skin tone! I don't even use it. I would never look at price per gram with a cream product since almost always expire before you hit pan. I would always prefer to spend my money on a product I will actually use (regardless of value). I also find the Chanel bronzer a bit difficult to apply, building it up did not work for me.

I NEVER LIKED THE CHANEL BECAUSE IT IS TOO ORANGE. THE TARTE LOOKS MORE NATURAL. ALSO IF THERE IS LESS COCONUT OIL, THERE IS PROBABLY MORE SILICONE IN THE PRODUCT. OIL CAN BE REMOVED FROM PORES, SILICONE BECOMES AND STAYS MORE SOLID, CLOGGING PORES. THAT IS WHY IT IS USED IN PORE MINIMIZING OR FILLER PRODUCTS.

Math nerd here ... since the Tarte product is .56 ounces for $29, that makes it $51.79 per ounce. Still more than the Chanel product per ounce, but the difference is less than discussed in the video. I’d still have never ever guessed a Tarte product would be priced higher than a Chanel product per ounce!

A person can’t buy .44 oz of the Tarte, in real life usage you still have to buy that second compact which is $58 for 2. Jena’s point is that in reality we’d spend closer to $60 when actually using the Tarte compared to the jar of Chanel.
