Love how down to earth you are!! Just a note: I would advise not to donate to Goodwill because they end up profiting from your donations, for no real cause. Women’s shelters, etc are definitely the way to go!!

But they employ disabled people and sell clothes for very cheap. Alot of people benefit from it and it's accessible to alot of people even those who are too ashamed or have no access to shelters, churches etc.

Nice inspiration. I think in more bigger space a person has the more stuff the person adds, if the person keeps an organize space chances are the person will wear or uses what he/she owns and thats awesome. Both of you helping your mother was the best part of this video. Bravo!

Really love this, so glad I came across your video as I’ve been through a really bad time in my life at 40 a horrible break up a rough time at work and home i thought I was weird decluttering my wardrobe my home, my kids wardrobe and toys. I’ve even noticed you mentioned changing passwords I had to reset mine at work and chose a positive so I type it in each day. Just coincidence so many things mentioned I’ve been doing and writing things down to feel organised. It really does work. I achieve them rip the page out and start a new day new goals. Once your wardrobe and home Is organised and decluttered it’s a breath of fresh air erasing memories we no longer want too x my kids and I gave all our things to a friend to take to families to Ghana in a container xx

That was a nice thing you did for your mom! Decluttering is so satisfying! Just have to keep reminding yourself not to buy more stuff to replace the old haha. I donate to either Goodwill (gently used clothes or home goods) or the women’s shelter in downtown Houston, (they take both new/unworn clothes and any new toiletries). I’ve also sold some items on Poshmark.

I've been doing the same thing. Did all my closets, drawers, make-up, jewelry & books. Your so right that having to many choices actually can work against you and leave you confused. Now that I'm done I really want to go back and do hardcore editing of what remains. I still feel I have too much. Need to stop buying for awhile and get off the internet. I start looking at things and keep buying, not enjoying what I already have. That's my plan👍. BTW great job with your decluttering and what you did at your mom's. She must have been so appreciative, plus your hubby helping, so nice.

I love to purge! I sell moderately good stuff on Poshmark and donate the rest. I just started to keep a daily journal called promises I kept to myself. I make daily goals and keep them. I’m building trust with myself to get things done. It’s a weird concept, that I picked up in a video I watched, but it spoke to me, and it’s working.

It’s nice to have a big closet but the trouble is you tend to fill it. I can understand why you would get overwhelmed with what to wear. I’m on a minimalism journey and am going through my wardrobe. I’m just keeping the clothes that I absolutely love and anything else I’m either donating or giving to family. I have a women’s shelter close to my home but they won’t take used clothes.....I’m not sure why so I donate to other charities instead. Some people shop for their fantasy life (someone you’d like to be.....maybe you’re conservative and you picture yourself in high fashion and then shop for that person instead of who you really are). I think like that all the time and then think again.....lol!
