I love how you balance a super busy afternoon with cutting out something else somewhere to give you the time. Like busy shopping and then a simple dinner on paper plates. You don't try and do it all. You have this great method that keeps a little sanity in the house. I really need to work on this. Thank you for the tips.

Right on, sista! Kid’s only job in life is not to go to school! I was raised with helping around the house, and as an adult I don’t think it’s child abuse for them to learn to clean. I’m team Red Grape. I waste so much food. I just hate it. It’s just me. I buy stuff thinking I’m going to cook and eat at home then I go to work and think all day about where I’m going to grab something already cooked for dinner. I just want to eat when I get off from work and go to bed.

I appreciate hearing your comments and perspective on the documentary, based on your background and experience. I thought it was well done and I could relate to a lot of the themes. My mom got hooked after knee surgery and almost died a few times over the years, and eventually got clean in rehab. For years she was just always high and nodding off, it was a little joke where we would poke fun at her because of it, and she would always insist she was "just closing her eyes for a second" but she was literally snoring...I guess it was our way of coping at the time.

Lately I’ve been boiling radishes for 15 minutes, cutting them in quarters and using them as a potato substitute in potato salad. It is very similar without the starch. So Easy to put together. I make a deviled egg potato salad with them. So Good.

A great lunch or food tray item is chicken salad served in those mini red, yell and orange peppers. Just cut them in half, take out the seeds and membrane and fill with chicken salad. The crunch of the pepper with the chicken salad is SO GOOD!

We have an old Amana refrigerator that is probably about 35 years old. We bought it used right before my husband and I were married and we will be married 30 years this month. We love it. It is our extra fridge in the basement, but it has been the best refrigerator ever. You're right, they don't make them like that anymore.

Hey Jen, thank you for another great video. I understand your angst with the teenage back to school shopping. This year I also have a first year college student. Preparing for the new school year has been on another level this year. Your skin is beautiful and glowy, whatever you are doing or using is working wonderfully. I don't think the beaded hoop earrings are too big, they looked great with your hair up . Enjoy the rest of the week and the coming weekend. We are expecting a very hot and humid weekend , in the 30s ( 86 -90f) , in Toronto so I'm going to make sure to enjoy ever last drop of summer. 😊 Margaret

I have the same ice problem with my veggie drawers. Once every month, I have to take them out and clean under. Suck out all the water with my turkey blaster and drying it up and then replacing it. My refrigerator is a General Electric. Aside from the ice issue (it also builds up on the back wall of the refrigerator) I love it. The water/ice issue is maddening.

My son grabs a bunch in a bowl and I don’t have to spend time he picking it all off. Btw, I love Laneige lip mask too. I bought a gift set with all the different flavors and love them. Omg same! I buy mr clean gain scent by the case from amazon! I didn’t even know there was a gain power wash til I saw Jen use it tonight. Yup gonna buy several of those tomorrow and ditch the blue power spray that stinks to high heaven. I bought that assuming that it would smell the same as the regular blue stuff. Nope. I saw someone take gain laundry scent beads and make little sachets with them and put them hidden around the house so it always smells like gain when you walk in. Yup buying those too! 🤣

I don't think you are being ruthless with your children. You are doing them a big favor to ensure that they can take care of themselves and you teach them to keep to a schedule, also. It's very important to their personal development. I do want to say, I do NOT understand why you pull your own garbage - you have not one, but TWO children who should be doing that! Even if you have to "make" them, do, because the responsibility is so important for them. Clean clothes do not grow in drawers, food does not magically appear on the table, clean floors don't get done by a magic broom - etc. My mom had me washing my own clothes from the time I was 8 (when I could reach the detergent off the shelf!), and I had my daughter helping me from the time she was 6 - she could go get her clean clothes and put up, take her plates to the kitchen, make her bed, etc. My two cents; feel free to ignore! TFS.

My brother and I had chores growing up. My mother did the laundry, but we put our clothes away, we changed our own beds, kept out rooms cleaned, emptied trash, did dishes, mowed the lawn, shoveled snow and helped with grocery shopping. My kids had chores and when my grandkids visit, they are expected to put their dishes in the sink, set the table, etc. It teaches responsibility and that the family is a unit. Mom is not the maid.

I hate wasting food but lately it seems like there's so much that's going bad on me! Once it goes in the drawer or gets pushed to the back it's in the VOID and I can kiss it goodbye. But it also seems like the fresh veggies are going bad in just a couple days now. We used to be able to keep them so much longer but not lately.

Talking about appliances not lasting long any more, I found out that Hoover builds their sweepers now to throw away, not last🤦🏼‍♀️ but when it comes to lettuce I’m lost at how to keep it any length of time🤷🏼‍♀️ also cucumbers seem to go bad quickly for me! Maybe it’s not smart to buy weekly groceries but maybe switch to every two days shopping 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

We started watching Pain Killer but we had already watched Dopesick so we knew the story. I highly recommend it too! I had no idea and it gave me a new perspective for sure. I had a major surgery back in Feb. of last year. I was so scared about the pain management thing, I did NOT want to get addicted to anything. I was shocked when they told me I was getting an epidural for the pain meds. I never got addicted to anything because I was getting it that way. I wasn't even sent home (after 6 days in the hospital) with any meds either. I hope/think they learned a lot from that whole thing. We have a Bosch dishwasher too, they are the BEST!!!!!! You are right, I never had water or any other drinks with me at all times like people do today. I grew up in the 80's too.

We've had ours for 7 years, and not long after we bought it, there was a weird knocking sound coming from it intermittently. It still does that, so we have to bang it to stop. We also have ice that forms at the bottom too. I hate it. We also had Samsung tvs, a washing machine and dryer....it's all bad and we've had issues with everything. Jen- I have said for YEARS the same exact thing about the pendulum and pain. We’ve done an injustice to our patients in both ends of the extremes. Many people are now suffering needlessly with chronic pain because doctors are now terrified to prescribe even the mildest narcotics. It’s barbaric in my opinion

I got super sick from a premade bowl salad from Hy-vee I have not bought one since. It was a free one with Hyvee plus, go figure right. I couldn't get out of bed for 4 days except to go to the bathroom. I've never felt worse.

Your fridge pre clean out looked totally reasonable. You mentioned feeling vulnerable but seriously it felt like a working fridge and can we please just normalize that? 😂 No more rainbow fridges from the Home Edit making us feel bad about our fridges

Jen, don't feel alone with your hatred of Samsung products because I hate them too!!! 😂 We bought a Samsung washer and dryer and were never notified that there was a recall on the washer because the lid could fly off during the spin cycle and it was extremely loud 😲 so they sent us a check for the purchase price so we could buy a different brand. We still have the dryer and it is janky too! 🙄 It will continue to run even after the drying cycle has ended therefore causing me to have to leave the door slightly ajar...I think ALL Samsung products are pieces of crap to be honest...lol...and I tell anyone and everyone to NEVER EVER buy any of their products! Hopefully, you'll get another fridge that you love and will work correctly. I just love you and your channel so much. 💞

You have an older Samsung refrigerator than I do. Mine is less than three years old. Knock on wood, so far we've had no issues with ours.

That shows was crazy!!! As someone who's been in the medical field for over 20 yrs, it shows how greedy companies can be.

We had a Samsung too with the exact same issues after 5 years of my drawers filling up with water. I fought them so hard about it threatened legal action and they have finally agreed to give me my money back

I wash my hair everyday also. I deliver mail so I’m out side everyday and my hair gets so nasty and I can’t take it. I’d love to not wash Eve day but if I’m showering I might as well wash my hair also haha ❤

Happy belated Birthday Connor! How old is Connor now? Do you have big party to celebrate your kids birthdays or keep it more simple? If I could go back I wouldn’t have a party for their friends to come to AND a party for immediate family and grandparents so much. Just too much work and expense! However, my kids only got gifts at bdays and Christmas. Rarely extras in between cuz I kept that limited Mainly, we couldn’t afford and because I couldn’t handle the ( what I call) toy vomit: just toys everywhere! Bad enough having Legos everywhere and stepping on those with bare feet by accident 😡 OMG!

I have the same fridge, it’s a piece of crap. The ice maker no longer works. Paid to have it repaired and lasted a few weeks and stopped. The door bins break so easy. The appliance repair guy says Samsung appliances are not good or long lasting. Better to get a North American built one.
