We rode out to what I call "short creek" and let Jenn get some technical time in. Of course in videos, nothing looks as steep or difficult as in real life. Contact: trailmeaboutit@gmail.com

Nicely done Jenn! 👍Coming down that hill would be a pucker moment for a lot of riders. Hubby is patient which is a big help. Nice that you two are out riding together. I might suggest helmets, but you are adults and it's still mostly a free country. Ride on you two! 😎

This is a dream of mine. I need two ATV’s to go riding with my wife.

Yeah we rode double for a while but I can play more or ride harder without a passenger. I do miss our double days a bit though because it was easier for us to communicate when both on the same quad.

Nice machine! I've been contiplating doing the same thing, trading in my 22' Outlander 650 XP for the 23' Grizzly EPS SE. I think that would be a better choice for the long run. Yamaha and Honda powersport machines are like the Toyota and Honda's of the auto industry, built to run forever! Cheers!
@chasintrail2 жыл бұрын
I agree, for the long run, that would be the way to go. I have had to do zero maintenance so far to this machine.

Yous guys are gonna smoke them belts right off in hi gear!! Low gear is there for a reason. One more thing , Yous guys are novice riders and should be wearing proper PPE. IV BEEN RIDING ALL MY LIFE AND ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET.
@chasintrail2 жыл бұрын
We were in low, 4, diff lock. I have been riding all my life as well, since 1992, I own protective gear and use it when I feel necessary. I'm too old now though to be doing anything too crazy. I appreciate your concern though.
@willhutton15162 жыл бұрын
I do agree with you on some sentiments. I still always wear a helmet, but the protective gear is only really necessary on the elbows and knees. You gotta be light and mobile enough to jump off if need be. My dad has an ‘02 grizzly and almost exclusively uses high. Still runs and rides great! On the 4th carb Rebuild and 3rd belt.

@@willhutton1516 I am hoping I will get the same longevity out of these newer Yamahas. Aside from Honda, I see more older Yamahas than any other brand. Always bail. Never try to catch or save an ATV. I don't get too sketchy, but always bail is what I teach my wife and kids. Make like Elsa and let it go.

No smoke belt on Yamaha CVT because the belt never slip, there is a centrifuge clutch on yamaha atv! Look this technical video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3TMaXmOfaqAoZI

Plain and simple should always wear a helmet. She is going slow down that hill but even if she bails out in a rollover she can still get hurt if that thing hits her in the head. Just saying. Better safe than sorry.

You guys are going to crack you heads wide open riding around those sharp large rocks come on grab a friggen helmet next time please accidents happen in one second please put helmets on next time thankyou guys
@chasintrail2 жыл бұрын
Statistically there are more head injuries from people walking on or around rocks as opposed to those rolling over them on a motor vehicle simply due to less points of contact. Interesting how if someone slips and hits their head walking uneven terrain, no one mentions a helmet, even though it happens more frequently. I understand your opinion though and do appreciate the concern. Thanks for watching man.

Nice quads, my wife and I ride all the time. Do u guys live in the Ohio area!?!?

No, we are in Mississippi.

So, what's the difference between the two?
@chasintrail Жыл бұрын
Grizzly is a couple inches wider and clutched to make it feel sportier, more mid range power and takes off quicker. The grizz has better suspension and softer seat.
@wannabejeeper Жыл бұрын
@@chasintrail Worth the extra cost? Sounds like it probably is.
@chasintrail Жыл бұрын
@@wannabejeeper I would only consider the Kodiak EPS SE as it is the only Kodiak with diff lock. The Grizzly EPS is roughly $500 more, so in that case, yeah I’d say it’s worth stepping up.
@bill_b8440 Жыл бұрын
The grizzly also has discs on all 4 corners whereas the kodiak rear is a sealed wet brake. The Kodiak comes with less storage compartments as well.

As to everyone saying wear a helmet. 1st off this is like novice level of riding. Hardest thing they did was the turn to go up the hill lmao. And 2nd I believe that if your machine goes down you go down with it. Idk that's just my opinion. I've been riding for 7-8 years.
@Jeffpearce-vh1vc Жыл бұрын
why would you both not where helmits you said sketchy imagine your wife or girlfriend smashing her head of rock or the atv gets her ..... or yourself .... be smart use a helmet at least
@chasintrail Жыл бұрын
More head injuries occur from walking in areas like this than riding by a large margin. May not hurt to target hikers or trail walkers about helmets if you are worried.
@ClintL632 жыл бұрын
so she can't drive her own machine? if she drives it without any telling, then she will learn someting; let her figure it out herself, unless she asks
@chasintrail2 жыл бұрын
Not the best advice there my man. Anyone new to ATVs should be guided and trained. The number one cause of ATV injury is lack of training/experience. This was her first time in any off-camber situation. The more experience she gains, the less I will have to guide her.
@canamdennis68292 жыл бұрын
You talk safety first for your wife but you and her are riding with no helmets first safety rule is put on helmets number 1

The turning radius looks terrible on those machines. I can see you turn the handle all the way but the wheels dont turn.
@chasintrail Жыл бұрын
The turning radius is better or equal to other manufacturers.
