Moral of the story: Don't walk around like you're apologizing for being in the world. Such wise words from Jenna.

Jenna seems like a great person. Very wise and down to earth, but she has this youthful side to her too!

This the best clip of the entire series. Jenna's point about taking up space was truly revelatory.

what really intrigues me though is how powerful posture and body language can be to your mind, maybe those who suffer of mental illnesses such as social anxiety, low self esteem, or maybe even depression can be benefited somehow by such body movement/posture classes ?

I thought that was a good and insightful comment. Exercise and going to the gym helps me with the physical aspect of depression, which in turn often uplifts my mood, confidence and the ability and will to do things. When I had been going to the gym regularly at a point a few years ago, a friend pointed out how good my posture had become, something I hadn't even noticed or thought was an issue.

Yes! I work with troubled youth and sometimes it seems like the posture work we do together is more effective/beneficial to them than the talking we do, lol

There's a research on that. Certain postures and poses have been shown to decrease your stress levels significantly. While it probably can't cure your depression it can make the stressful situations more bearable. www.ted.com/talks/amy_cuddy_your_body_language_shapes_who_you_are

Yes! I get this. It's hard to get over the feeling of being "braggy" just because one's shoulders are back and head isn't down.

Interesting to watching this in my painting studio during covid. My walls are covered with my pictures, I keep having to look for new places to store them. Anyone who makes physical works of art knows the experience of occasionally having to give or throw pieces away just so you have room to make more. Yes, I sell occasionally, but you can't rely on sales to make room for more.

There's irony in the fact that Ms. Fischer's hunched-over posture helped her get (and play) the role of "Pam", arguably the role which catapulted her into stardom, and then afterwards for another role she needed more assertive posture, so now her advice is to walk, and behave, more assertively. I wonder if, had she not had Pam's bad posture naturally, she would have been cast as Pam in the first place.

She looks great. She will have a great future. She's the type that does not put limitations on her life, nor does she let others do it either. I have great confidence in her future.
