Thank you so much for doing this! I'm a busy homeschool mom on a budget. I really don't get a lot of "me" time, so I've been experimenting with art for 30 min a night. I have no idea what I'm doing, but your videos have helped me so much and is making my experience fun. Thank you again!

You are a FABULOUS teacher! I am a performing musician and music teacher who knows how difficult it is to break a concept down, teach what each component is and how it functions as part of the whole. You are gifted with the rare skills of teachers’ empathy and simple eloquence. Students will understand and remember your fine lessons because you successfully explain not only the how but the most important WHY of the subject. Thank you for your generous on line offerings.💐 You are one of the best 🥇🏆 art teachers🎨 I have ever had!👩‍🎨 Peace✌️, Love 💕 and Good Vibrations 🎉🎶 From BanjoQueen🪕👸🏻🌹

Hi there, I'm pretty new to watercolor- I don't even think it has been a full year yet. I've been attempting to self teach but I did a lot of research before I even purchased my first student grade paints. I learned a lot in this video but I have a hard time executing some of the techniques, especially the florals. I also tend to overwork everything unless I am working on something with fine details lol I did want to make a correction though in case nobody else has, and that is not all granulating colors are fugitive. It would depend on the pigments used in the color. Some brands such as super vision are definitely fugitive as they use dyes vs actual pigments, whereas a schmincke super granulating made with two to three lightfast pigments along with gum Arabic (which is the binder that holds the pigments together btw;) i.e. pb29, aka ultramarine blue, which is a granulating color on its own WOULD be lightfast (non-fading, archival). So break it down, a granulating color is actually just a color which uses heavier pigments. The larger, heavier pigment particles separate from the water (or sometimes other pigments) and fall into the grooves of your surface leaving an almost cracked look. In the case of a multi-pigment granulating color- it has really cool effects where the heavier pigment drops into the grooves, leaving the lighter pigment to sit on the peaks of the paper giving you a multi color, multi dimensional result. These come in super handy in landscape paintings to add extra texture and depth you wouldn't get as easily otherwise using a non granulating color :)

When using the wet on dry technique how long does it take for the base layer to dry? Does it take longer for the mid tones to dry?

Jenna, thank you for these videos, they are so very helpful!!! So far I have the Kuretake 24 colors and Prussian blue, opera rose, scarlet lake, and burnt umber. I am ready to add a few new colors like Payne's grey, however, I am wondering what your choices would be to round out my palette? Should I get an orange? A different pink? Just curious about your opinion if it's not too much trouble. Also does gauche dry in a pan like watercolor paint or does it stay wet and therefore separate? Thank you in advance!

thank you so much for this, im entering sixth form and I'm going to do art, and this helped me so much. but I have a question, how do you make sure the paint doesn't end up dissolving the paper and making it go into bits? I've always struggled with watercolour (like the only paint I cant do) so thanks
