How to mix paints for watercolor flowers (using a reference photo)

In this watercolor tutorial, I will show you how to mix paints for watercolor flowers. This color mix technique works for any kind of watercolor painting, you don't need to paint flowers. I also use a reference photo to get the colors I want.

I love your color mixing videos 🥰 When I started watercolor just over a year ago, I painted your color chart. And I love painting color wheels. Now that I am more experienced with color, I love to paint color wheels using two primaries and 8 or 10 “pie pieces”. I have many of these and they are useful when I want to match a color. And I like to just look at them 🤣

The dialogue about the names of colors you mix gets too confusing, moving on.

I quite enjoy it, because now I know the pigment colours as if they are old friends of mine. I bet you'll love the colour commentary too Mary if you get comfortable with your palette of colours, the pigments & the names. To help out with the names of the colours that Jenna uses: (Black) Mars Black (Brown) burnt umber (Purple) Ultramarine Violet (Blues) Prussian Blue, Cobalt Blue, Pthalo Turquoise, Cobalt Teal, Manganese blue (Green) Sap green (Pink) Opera Rose (Red) Scarlet Lake (Orange) Cadmium Orange (Yellow) Lemon Yellow Deep, Yellow Ochre Hope this helps.
