The reason she never made it was because of not using a lot of auto tune in a genre that had already begun using tons of auto tune so without it she didn't have the popular sound which in pop music matters more than vocal talent sadly. It's not the 80s/90s when all you needed was a good voice. By even this point when the song was released you needed a decent voice, an ability to work properly with auto tune, good looks, lyrics devoid of any substance and a willingness to just be cliche pretty much. An artist like Jennette McCurdy wasn't wanted by the labels because she was unique and not just another pretty face who would bow to them for some money and fame. Had she decided to switch fully to country music which she had the voice for she might be a big name rn

I knew her music before her book. She was on a show me and my mom watched performing live music and it was while iCarly was still going on. My mom would pretend she didn’t watch it with me but when we did she was just as invested into the show as me lol😂❤️

I've never been a fan and too old for iCarly to really notice her before her book. To me, she was just another annoying teen star. I happened to catch a glimpse of her story and then, out of curiosity, read her book and learned a bit about her career. I'm older now, but definitely a fan of hers! Especially after seeing some recent interviews about her book. I am impressed how she has mastered her fate and how much depth and humor she has. She seems to have had a good therapist and is very intelligent. Apparently she is writing a new book and prefers to work creatively behind the camera. Although she definitely has what it takes to be an A-class actress. But the main thing is that she is happy with what she is doing. I found her story very inspiring and well told. A beautiful authentic person!!!!
