Everytime Miranda is brought up, it's like her eyes light up and sometimes she gets more giggly, like I do when I talk about my best friend. Just the thought of Miranda makes her a little happier and it truly shows that Miranda was a light in a very dark time and place for Jennette.

While the book held angry and ugly words for most of the people mentioned (rightfully so), Jennette seemed to have written a love letter for Miranda, in which every word about her was heartfelt and sweet. It really is the little things. Something that may seem so meaningless to some is so helpful to others. I, personally, have been out of the situation with my former stepmonster for almost six years. With my dad and grandma, we never talked about name blocking. I think they noticed, when I’d first gotten out, how I reacted when people on their side of the family asked about him and my mom (they were still together. Yes, she chose him over me). In these six years, I genuinely can’t recall a time they’ve said his name. They always refer to him as just “him”. I constantly kick myself, saying I don’t really have CPTSD… despite being clinically diagnosed by multiple mental health professionals. I tell myself that I’m faking my trauma, despite knowing that couldn’t be further from the truth. Like, I know it’s just the years of gaslighting from my mother which has made me this way. Your observation just made me realize that I likely show my trauma far more than I realize. Thank you for that.

But this was on my timeline and the book title caught my attention so I clicked on the video and then decided to do a quick google search on her and her mom’s relationship and I have to say that from the small snippets of information I was able to gather, her relationship with her late mother really hit home for me. I too suffered from physical and mental abuse from my mother and it has taken me so many years to finally feel brave enough to talk about it and start working on my healing. So I admire this young woman for her courage to be able to share her story with the world. I may pick up the book and read it as part of my ongoing healing. Thank you for your courage Jennette 🌷💕🌷

Miranda's crying, I'm crying, we're both crying, we can't stop crying. For me it's not that iCarly ending, it's not that today is our last day ever taping iCarly; that I'm fine with, definitely ready for. Even though I'm wary about starting my spinoff, I'm glad to at least be saying goodbye to this project that makes me feel like I'm living everyday in a Groundhog Day movie doing the same thing over and over again. The reason I'm crying is that I don't know what will become of my friendship with Miranda: we've gotten so close, like sisters but without the passive aggression and weird tensions. I have my judgments around female friendships being catty and petty and backstabby but that couldn't be further from the truth with Miranda. With Miranda it's always been so easy, our friendship is pure. An AD hands and me and Miranda a tissue; we blow our noses hideously and get back on our marks to do one last take for the final scene we're shooting together. The sadness takes both of us over: we hold each other and cry. -I'm Glad My Mom Died, Chapter 49

I can see her making a documentary about her life but as far as her getting back to the big screen it's slim to none.

That’s PERIDOT. This women was a huge part of my childhood and I loved her character so much on Sam and Cat as well as iCarly. It’s so horrible that she went through all of this and we all just watched thinking she was okay. This proves that anyone can fake a smile and don’t judge book by it’s cover, be kind, be compassionate you never know what anyone is going through. I love Jeannette and I’m so happy that she’s choosing to take care of herself, her mental health, and do what she loves. Whenever she’s ready to act, produce, direct whatever she wants to do I’ll be happy for her and we’ll all be welcoming her with open arms.

Damn, sounds like she's been through it. I absolutely love her conviction. She is totally right in it. Ones mental health should have precedence over all else. Good for her.

She is a talented actress so it's nice to hear she is open to it again-I hope she is able to make that work for her in some healthy capacity in the future. She's very funny and most actors who are capable of comedy are also great dramatic actors as well. I'd love to see her do a serious adult role in something that she is engaged with for her own reasons.

Honestly, when I heard the name of the book and some of her comments, I worried about her mental health. But to be honest after hearing her speak, while I still am sure she has trauma that she is working through, I think she seems to have a healthy mindset. I also realize that I shouldn't have judged her book title as someone who is just a few months younger than her with both of my parents dead. I had a couple people have the nerve to judge a couple jokes I made about a year after my dad passed in 2020. I know my father would have found them hilarious and for anyone who knew the relationship we had, they know better than to take it too seriously but I was so bothered when people who barely know me but knew my dad had the nerve to try to reprimand me. I shouldn't have judged Jennettes book title because I don't know her life with her mother. In fact, I don't even know the context and why she says it. I hope the book is so successful and she continues the healing process!

How great for YOU to have been able to make that decision, Jennette - to not do the re boot. Instead of your mother making the decision as she did for so many years. How great that you could say no, and nit be met by your mother’s selfish histrionics and guilt tripping. Congrats on breaking free ! A long and happy life to you, Jennette! I just read your book in record time. Could not put it down. Cheers to your authentic self ! To your healing and wholeness. Liz

Honestly, yes the creator is no longer a part of it. But he’s still credited as the creator in the credits of every episode. I think Jennette deserves the space and agency to choose not associate with him in any way going forward, and I’m glad it seems that most people are granting her kindness in making that choice. Making choices for your mental well-being is so important. Sending all my love and support to Jennette ❤️

I love how the interviewer asks "ever though your mom is gone and the creator isn't on the show", can you imagine after what she's been through walking back into that character. A character whose food choices exacerbated her own. Whose mother was likely painfully familiar. I can't imagine what even being called "Sam" again might feel like for her, let alone whatever horrible backstory Nick likely would have cooked up. Two of the main perpetrators may be gone, but not only was every other adult on that set complicit in what was happening, but every piece of that character and and show absorbed those memories. I can absolutely imagine why she turned the role down, main two people aside. Good for her protecting herself.
