But if you ask me what really won her This tournament was her ball striking. Really on both sides, but especially the forehand. She wasn't afraid to pull the Trigger and went for her shots even in the big points...

I remember watching this momentous match! Everyone thought Capriati would lose to Hingis (Hingis had won all of their previous matches except for an exhibition)... but Jennifer came out swinging for the fences and outplayed Martina. Redemption!

Hingis' tank was just empty after two great victories in the previous rounds.Very rarely have I seen her commit so many unforced errors.

@fundhund62 i think some of it was fatigue, but to me she looked really tight. I think she was feeling the pressure of being a heavy favorite.
