Jennifer Lopez and Felicity Huffman found a maternal common ground during their conversation for the fourth season of Variety and PBS’ “Actors on Actors” series. The two actresses, who are starring in “Shades of Blue” and “American Crime,” respectively, struggle with juggling motherhood and work - something they say many men don’t experience.
“They asked working moms, they said ‘What percentage of you guys feel guilty about working outside the home?’ And it was 98%. And they said, ‘Even part-time moms, what percentage?’ And it was again like 98%,” Huffman said. “And then they asked working dads, both full-time and part-time. And guess what percentage of working dads feel guilty about their kids?”
“Was it zero?” Lopez asked.
“Goose egg! That’s exactly right; not at all. It’s just so different!” Huffman replied.
“You know when it was over for them,” Lopez added.

I feel as if Jennifer Lopez can continue to act throughout her entire lifetime. I hope to see her in movies through her elder years too. I get sad when I don't see great actors continue to act in movies through their elder years. Meryl Streep is that type of great actor, having the ability to continue acting through her elder years. Jennifer Lopez can do it too. She's that talented.

Yeah man Anaconda was amazing(!) I'm just kidding mate. You're rite she's not a bad actress at all. I just think she's still waiting for her defining role in acting. I don't think this new show is it. It's a good show though. I just don't think it''s the role that will make everyone talk about her.

I didn´t like Jennifer doing so many rom-coms in recent years cause I´ve seen her early acting in other movies and she was gooood, not a lot of room for good acting and substance with rom-coms, so I must say I am so happy with her acting in Shades of Blue, that´s the actress I´d been missing for a long time, the show is addicting.

Jennifer Lopez is amazing, bye. Also, for anyone complaining she didn't ask many questions, go see the other interviews, it's the same. Kerry Washington made all the questions, and Aziz Ansar usually only asked "and you?", much like Jennifer here. It's more like one actor interviewing the other/leading the conversation than both of them being the interviewer/interviewed at the same time.

Their personalities are SO different. It was such an odd pairing. JLo is so used to being interviewed and being the one asked the questions. She is also more energetic and opinionated. Felicity is quieter and doesn't seem to be able to hold it down like JLo. Felicity got more comfortable toward the end. Her true voice came flying out with all of that cursing.

Season one was incredibly well written by an ensemble of writers but they were so "desperate" to keep the record numbers of viewers that the storylines became crazier and more ridiculous. You guys gotta understand, Desperate Housewives was HUGE in 2004/05. It was the number one show in America. They really wanted to keep that and just ended up ruining it in the long run.

Rather than questioning each other on their show - as two season/older actresses that have paid their dues, this interview is more about commenting on their career’s: 1) working on network tv 2) as working Moms 3) diversity 4) both are from the Bronx, started out as dancers and were driven at a young age 👍🏼 This is what they had in comment and funny seeing Felicity Huffman giving Jennifer Lopez some tough Bronx girl accent back - lol

I love American Crime! Felicity did play a very manipulative woman in season 2, but she was also dealing with the prejudices of her school's community and administrators. Something that she ultimately had to take the fall for. I wonder how they'll top season 2. I wish that the show had received more wins for season1, and I hope that it will receive some for season 2. Those wins are much deserved, given the show's powerful performances and overall impact, which it has made through emotional and tense scenes throughout.

Am I the only one who cringed a little bit that Felicity started talking about herself right after Jennifer Lopez started talking about Selena? I almost feel like Jennifer Lopez did not ask her the question so Felicity just started answering for herself. It was a little bit awkward. I don’t think Felicity had a choice though, in order to make the interview more equalized and fair, she had to just start talking about her self. I don’t envy having to be in a position like that ha ha. I wonder if Jennifer Lopez even knows who she is.

@Variety While well intentioned, I must say this pairing is insensitive. A huge proponent of conversations between a diverse set, I can see how the meeting of two dissimilar minds could yield some unexpected genius. This coupling, however, was anything but; a forgone conclusion that I am confident someone could have come to before the First AD said "roll camera". Simply looking at the body of acting work these two, albeit equally impressive women, have put out, would have hinted at how strained, clumsy and inhibited this dialogue would be. There seemed to be such careful considerations in previous pairings (Courtney B. Vance and Tracee Ellis Ross, Emilia Clarke and Jay Duplass, Tom Hiddleston and Aaron Paul, to name a few) that I hope you'll steer clear from another embarrassing misfire.

I really do not believe that 0% of working men don't regret not being able to be at home or spending more time with their children. Also, its a different burden. Men have an innate feeling to provide for their spouse and children, as well as offering security, both physically and monetarily ("the modern day hunt"). Men's state of mind is different.

Sorry VF, but this pairing is ludicrous. You can tell how uncomfortable both women are with their pairing. Very off, what a shame.

JLo is so self-absorbt!! 🙈 I can't stand it. It's not classy to show zero interest in the other actress, to not ask her any interesting questions... She does it all the time in this format. Felicity is such an amazing actress and so intelligent, I would have loved a better conversation partner for her with the same level of skill and intellect. Sorry.
