At the age of 38, Jennifer Teege discovered by chance that she is the granddaughter of Amon Göth, the notorious Nazi concentration camp commander depicted in the movie 'Schindler's List.' On Talking Germany, she looks back at the day her life changed, recalling her childhood in a home and growing up in a foster family.

Apparently, some are having trouble following her line. Amon Goth and his mistress Ruth Kalder had a daughter, her name was Monika and Monika had Jennifer with a Nigerian man. Jennifer doesn't HAVE to look like her mother to be her daughter ffs. But her features do resemble Goth.

caveman Versace No that is not true. Blacks were serving in the German army and at no time blacks were put in a camp just because their race! de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_Freies_Arabien#/media/Datei%3ABundesarchiv_Bild_101I-177-1465-16%2C_Griechenland%2C_Soldaten_der_%22Legion_Freies_Arabien%22.jpg Germany is being portrayed as evil, because, well, they lost the war!

Mario Breznmoasta Let us stay fair. You never provided any source to me so far, so if you tell me the book's Name I could read it. I am the only one that provided a source so far, also, it is a good one, because it is from the German federal archive. You are right that Blacks were disctiminated but not KILLED. And that was also the case in USA and in SA until 1994, so nothing outstanding Bad. But so far you didn't provide ANY source except some book in a library. Well, ok. Which one? So either you deliver a source or you stop complaining about my own one, which is even true, because all the photos of Wehrmacht that were official were detained in this "Bundesarchiv"/federal archive of Germany.

caveman Versace Don't change the topic! You said Ammon Göth would kill her! We were not talking about state organized extinction, but about the personality of Ammon Göth! So citing the Auschwitz or holocaust site would not be enough, because that refers to the german state but not to Ammon Göth's personality. I would not have any Problem with the term "In my opinion Ammon Göth would have killed her". But you said he would kill her, as if that could ever be proven! In my opinion we can't tell and in your opinion he would have killed her. It is totally fine to disagree there, but you act as if we know with 100% certanity that he would have killed her. But do we? Some SS guards had affairs with jewish girls for example, some even married after WW2. All I am saying that there is no absolute certanity about that and just because it sounds truthful, we still cannot tell with 100% what would have happened if... , because people do not always act rational. The only reason why I responded to You is that you said he would kill her, but in fact it is just your opinion, not necessarily the absolute truth, if that exists. Behaviour does not always make sense....

I feel like she is representing the „victory of life“.....if you can use this description. Her grandfather was a disgusting piece of work and surely would not have wanted a granddaughter like her. But here she is, beautiful, smart and friendly... everything her grandfather never was. She kind of proves his ideas wrong and I think this is pretty amazing.

The interviewer was very good, asking good questions.24 members of my mothers family were murdered by the Germans and my father was in the Polish Army in Warsaw and saw and experienced terrible thing done by the Germans. This woman is smart and shouldn't be blamed at all for her murderous grandfather. None of us can every pick our parents or grandparents. What a terrible tragedy for your family, I think of the stories my mom shared with me of my great grands and so forth, full of love and hard times etc, but never failing to remind me of the Holocaust, (we are not Jewish) in an effort to say, yes it was hard but never fail to be grateful, because in comparison to that , and actually losing life, we were actually fortunate. I cannot imagine your stories to your children, but it must be told
@Strongholdex

Philip Nestor It is true that Poles lived in the German empire, but it is wrong to say that Jews were generally poor. Moreover, you will find in present day Germany many people whose names End with: "ski", like the Name Kowalski, which isn't too uncommon in Germany. At my school in Germany we had a pupil, that resembled Very strongly an Aryan, in the national socialist sense, but.he told me that his ancestors were actually part of the polish minority in the German empire and that they already moved in 1880 from Posen to Bavaria and in both world wars they fought for Germany, also for the national socialist one, because the national socialists considered non jewish Poles as " artverwandt", which means closely related basically.

+TheVictorian Baroness (1) She is not a native speaker. I'm sure that if you were speaking a foreign language, you'd make mistakes. When learning Japanese I confuse the words "scary" and "cute" and the words "use" and "make" because they're similar. Heck, I even make mistakes in my own language, especially when speaking extemporaneously. (2) "Older" is a relative term. If I'm 20, a 25 year old is "older". She could have been talking from a particular standpoint. (3) She is 46 herself, so she obviously doesn't mean the woman was "elderly". I see absolutely nothing to take umbrage with here.

Jane Doe Yeah… thanks for the supremacy lesson. Life partners are chosen… but we do not chose who they are because we have no idea how they are going to look like or how they are going to be. There is nothing wrong with having a preference but I find preferences ridiculously shallow. A life partner isn't just a babymaker that determines the color of your babies but that's obvious. And funny enough, especially at this time, this generation, we don't know what to expect from babies once they are grown up. People are becoming more “open-minded”, and this is just a generalization. Your babies could follow to keep their babies in their race, or they can do the complete opposite. But most people, stick with their race anyways.

Great Story and It would be nice to know that Amon Goet is rolling around his grave as it will add to the punishment and evil he perpetrated on innocent victims. I know of many stories like this of the children of Nazi War Criminals who have married into Jewish Families. Freulein Jennifer Teege is a brave young woman but I did laugh when she mentioned older women in their 40's; b eing born in 1970 makes her 45 now and I would not look at her as elderly. Bravo for her to look into her past as it cannot be denied. Her mother apparently was a loose women who lived a dreadful life as many children of Nazi's have. Even sadder are the children that were destined to be the first purebred Aryans and strange that they had to hunt outside Germany to find Blond, Blue Eyed prospects. I myself grew up speaking German and am Danish, Dutch Norwegian Anglo Saxon and the majority of my family is blond blue eyes and only a trace of German.

A very interesting story. It's just as well we are now in a different time and place. I suspect her grandfather would have been inclined to have her shot.

That might not be true as the Germans view blood relations as important. Look at Hans Massaquoi, the former editor of Ebony. His uncle loved him dearly and so offered him and his sister (Hans' mother) protection; and he was a member of the ss.

As an "African American" Man this was a very interesting Story about Jennifer Teege, a Black Woman of Mix race Heritage that had a Shocking Wake Up Call when she found out about her German Nazi Pass concerning Her Grandfather! I came across this YT video after watching another YT video about a Black Boy who was also of a Mix Race Heritage, during the Days of Hitler! Back in my Youth I had an "African American" Male Boy Scout Leader and His Wife was German and they had two Boys! He was a WW2 Veteran and I knew his family for a very long time and we all got along very well!...God Bless!

she did inherit some of his features and its obvious. she explained in the german clip that when she stumbled across a book and saw a photo she instantly felt something. same like we go through old family pics and even though we don'tknow someone we can tell we share a few features with them.

The lady takes no blame for her ancestors evil deeds,this is as it should be. Are you to blame that your Grandfather voted Republican?

+gump If your grandfather voted Republican, he was a hero. In your grandfather's day, the democrat party was populated with segregationist halfwits. Things change of course. Today's democrats are no longer segregationists.
