I don’t believe in the hair chart, but if we are going to use it, it should start with the coiliest hair as “A1” or “1A” and go down from there. After all, African peoples were the first people on earth. Ours is the first hair type. *Everything* starts with us. 🌎

I cried when she said that she feels like a woman. Thank you for saying that she is a woman. It breaks my heart that black women and black men have strands that are so beautiful, it could be considered art. But when we wear it in our most natural stage (like a fro) we are asked questions like, so what are you going to do to your hair or when are you going to comb it or get it done? People think it's and we are most beautiful when it's straightened but I disagree. It takes so much pride to even wear a fro. I wish they knew but I wear mines because I know. 💯❤

You can't assume she's without any other DNA just by looking at her or the fact she's from Ghana or any parts of Africa any more than all other black people. Africa was colonized and white men, middle easterners spread their DNA throughout enough to not know exactly where it landed @@MissNolver

@@Smokestacklightin Oh please! Stop with that nonsensical rhetoric about black women being mixed whenever they have long hair! Would you say the say the same nonsense if she had short 4c hair?? I don't think so. This is what _hypocrisy_ tries to do, whenever it sees a fully black woman with long hair. It tries to explain why that particular fully black woman has long hair and not even trying to understand that her hair became long because of her own effort and merits: it's trying to explain it's own cognitive dissonance. This is utterly disgusting behaviour that stems from racism and it needs to end now in Jesus' name. West-Africans were always seen as fully negroid, especially when their hair was short. I always knew it was just a matter of time when some people would say _black African women with long hair aren't fully black._ Her features look absolutely *nothing* like white or Arab features, try again 🙄

I say the same, natural texture is fine just be presentable or groomed. That goes for all textures. Hair should look clean and cared for. Not all over the place and unkept. Every job isn’t corporate-like so if you work around chemicals or food, your hair, no matter the texture, should be tucked away or styled in a way that doesn’t interfere with your job. Whatever you profess to do.

Her hair looks more medium/ highly porus. She does not seem to have low porosity hair. Low porosity hair, repels water, and retain moisture because the cuticles lay flat and are sealed. And with the flat smooth cuticles natural oils from the scalp can travel down the hair shaft faster. Hence why Caucasian, Indians and a lot of people with similar hair get so greasy so fast. High porosity hair is like a sponge, it absorbs moisture, but also lose moisture fast, because the cuticles are either open, afro and curly hair are more likely to be very poros, especially on ends. Because we have lots of curves and bends in our cuticles, it makes it harder for natural oils to travel through our hair to keep it lubricated. Hence why our ends tends to be dryer or seems brown in contrast to the roots. Porosity can be genetics or from excessive use of heat and chemicals. Sorry I thought maybe an error was made saying her hair was low porosity.
@truthteller77
@truthteller77 Жыл бұрын
I 💯 agree with you that her hair doesn't look like low-porosity hair, but very high-porous. But I disagree with you with the rest of your comment. Because afro hair can most definitely be low-porous and my hair is one of them. Low-porous afro hair has a natural shine on it when it's loose, and this girl's hair is not reflecting light in her natural state. But her hair is EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, nonetheless. Just my two cents here ✌🏾

I have never seen a transformation so utterly amazing in my life! I could literally see her hair transform w each stage of Opalex. Just the way hair was starting to absorb instead of repel the water. I've been natural all my life and ppl have always envied my hair, and it would make me upset bc I've always seen it as an extension of colorism. After seeing the process and work it takes to just shampoo 4C hair, I finally get it. My hair isn't "better," it's easier to manage. The end result almost made me cry. Thank you again !!!! I have fine, medium density, high porosity, extremely dry, extreme protein overload, breakage, 4c hair. No color or chemicals, I trim every 2 months, I do not use heat. I have lots of shrinkage. I have mechanical damaged from a brush, prior to Stylist using brush my hair was 💯 percent healthy. Should I use Olaplex? Thank you!!!

Hi, isn't that roller brush damaging to 4C hair. It just looks that it would rip through. She has a beautiful head of hair. Reminds me of my hair pre-perm in my teens. Went natural a few years ago and just did the total chop. Got tired of semi coloring. Now embracing my gray and white hair. The silk press you did is beautiful. Curious as to how long will it last before it reverts to 4C texture?

I prefer a denmon brush or tangle teezer. I used a wide tooth comb for years bc I was told brushes would just rip out my hair. I used my sisters denmon brush and a whole new world opened up. All the breakage that I was calling "shedding" with the wide tooth comb disappeared.

Great job Jennifer! She is a such a pretty lady, and her hair is gorgeous. Love how the ladies sacrifice, and grow out their natural tresses. I have seen some really beautiful long natural hair. I end up big chopping mine every year or two, because the strands are fine with 2 to 3 textures. It grows back fast, but I don't want to cut it any more. It's tough, if you cannot find the right products for your hair type. TFS Jennifer.

Okay I’m so enjoying this video. What’s professional hair? That’s a term I believe originally came from mainstream Caucasian type hair standards which a lot of people of African blood do not have. So we for years straightened our hair to assimilate. There was a time we were given two options don’t get hired or straighten your hair to get hired that’s what it was. To my knowledge we are the only race to have won a lawsuit in America at least for hair discrimination. Thank goodness for changes in societal so called norms. As for chemical straighteners I’ll never cross that bridge again personally especially after watching “Good Hair” that sodium hydroxide burned a hole in that chicken breast which is why sometimes there are scabs after it’s application. Now we’re hearing about a possible link between relaxers a some forms of cancer. No thanks Afro or Thermal Silk press. ❤
