I am a fan of ABC, it is really good to hear that the TXS supports it! It means there is a competitive upgrade for Hornby TTS to include ABC

Thank you for this Jenny, I’m newly returned to the hobby so was unaware of these clever things. I’m also new to starting a KZbin channel and I’m in awe of how you turn out so much quality content, but I’m glad you do. 😊

Fantastic information Jenny. I can se these decoders really taking off for those wanting to get the best out of DCC.....easily!

Great video Jenny - looks like an order heading its way to DCC Concepts. A very useful accessory when you have an end-to-end layout.

I think Accurascale models are great and your presentation was great. Greetings to all model railway friends in UK from Germany.

Absolutely fascinating. Your videos on the new Hornby system have made me a convert. One question: you demonstrate ABC with a diesel pausing and reversing, but can you use it for ending a steam engined train at a terminus station, or in a storage loop - without having to stop it “manually” via your operating device? This would also make operating a continuous circuit layout (with hidden storage loops) so much easier. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge - really helpful.

Very interesting Jenny. I have three auto shuttles on my O Gauge Merton Abbey layout by making up my own modules from using diodes But I like the range of controllability of the equipment shown in the video

Thanks Jenny! The more I see of these decoders the more I like them. Can you adjust the stopping time, so that the loco will wait at a signal or station, before setting off again? Can you configure the Loco to continue in the same direction and move the the next ABC section of track? Thanks!

Hi Jennifer do they do the stop at signail?

The system can be set up to be used that way.

Thanks Jen I’m just about to start a baseboard for TT120 and like the idea of block detection and Bluetooth. As far as I know there’s no Bluetooth system yet that will work with block detection but this is certainly a very interesting idea.

Thank you for a great video how about showing how to stop at a station in the middle of the reversing section

Very good demonstration. What are the settings for just a normal ABC stop, pause and carry on when meeting a Red Stop light when a point ahead is changed against travel or when just a red stop light when pausing at a tunnel perhaps or just a pause at the station if required ?

Great video Jenny. What settings to set when just using ABC in one direction? Such as stopping a Red Signals, or at Points set against travel and red lights, then Green to carry on going forward, or just pausing at a Station ? I presume this would also work with other companies ABC circuits?

Hi. Very informative video. I’ve installed a HM7000 in an A4 and am really impressed. Currently I only have it running on a rolling road but want to use it on the layout I’m planning which will be DC powered (ie not DCC). Will I be able to use ABC braking? I assume that the decoders look for asymmetry in a DCC signal on the track and of course that won’t exist. Thanks.

ABC only works on DCC.

Do they support ABC slow mode as well as stop/shuttle? The DCC Concepts ABC modules also support slow so they could be used, for example, on a yellow signal. Another example is a section of track leading in to the stop signal section of track to reduce speed to a speed that the loco can definately stop at without busting the signal. Whilst I haven't used the HM7000 yet (mine is in the post still) in my experience you have to play with CVs a bit for decelleration using CV4 and CV50 (on my Zimo decoders) to allow your trains to stop in time. Assuming you have lots of track length having a two stage section of track will allow you to slow the train down first then stop at the signal from a lower speed. With the settings of left and right rail you can control which direction the stop signal applies to. With double track mainline where trains run in only one direction on the track this is easy. But what about a section of single track with trains running in both directions? You will have two signals controlling a single section of track with the signals at either end allowing/blocking access to that section from beyond it. One will be red and the other will be green to allow traffic only in one direction at a time. This means isolating BOTH rails and putting each rail onto their own DCC ABC Module with a single switch. In one position the signal is red at one end and green the other and thus only one DCC ABC module is active at a time. A double throw switch will do this but you would need a switch with more poles than two if you also control points.

Could this also work with a Megapoints ABC circuit?

Hi Jenny, slightly noonish question... but does this function exist on each format of the HM7000 chips? 6/8/18/21?
@JenniferEKirk4 ай бұрын
@@sasuke5th yes for 8/18/21. I haven’t seen the spec for 6 pin yet as they aren’t released.

I just installed a Hornby HM7000 TXS 8 pin decoder into my GWR HST and it works in normal operation. Sadly it is ignoring the ABC using the same DCC Concepts module as this video. This module has worked with all of my other assymetric DCC ABC capable decoders eg DCC Concepts Zen V12 black and Zimo MS450P22 sound decoders. However, it is not working with the HM7000. In my test track loop the inside rail is isolated to the ABC module, with the HST in front of me with it's nose pointed to my left thus I believe CV27 should be set to right rail (2) which did not work. I have set it to left, right, both rails and it did not work with any. I also played with CV125 and set to 1, 2 or 3 it did not work. I am unsure what else to try but it definately works with other trains.
