Yes! Both when the screen goes dark on “disappear” in the beginning, and on your video here, the 10:25 mark with the 3 tenors and EJ comes in on “broken on the ground” give me goosebumps every time. Great reaction again. I’ve not seen the musical yet. My youngest saw it on Broadway on a school trip but she’s not told me the ending. Guess it’s time to see for myself. The music is beautiful. For those of you watching and thinking “Wow. I actually just understood something new about the voice and singing. I think I could learn from Jennifer.” You are probably right. Why not try it and find out?

Thank you for a great analysis of Voctave. I’ve listen to their music a couple of years now and I love it dearly but I found that you can always discover new things about the songs/composition by watching videos like yours. I especially like that you don’t talk over the song ALL the time or pausing in the middle of a sentence overly much like some others do, it drives me crazy!

Love your reactions and you are adorable!! They had over 900 people from 55 different countries in their virtual choir. That in itself is an amazing undertaking to pull off! Check out their "Great Movie Medley" ...an ode to the great John Williams and many of his amazing movie theme songs. There is only one song where they sing lyrics. The rest, they are THE orchestra!!

Amazing vocals and production. I assume this was produced during COVID which makes the virtual choir even more meaningful. My favorite part was when the 3 guys hit that ridiculous chord.

HI Jen, I was one of your commenters that suggested Voctave before you did any reactions to them . I remember thinking "if Jen ever listens to this, she gonna fall over dead" lol I am teasing you. but it seemed to have a awful of things that you like. What might interest you is the first singer in this video is Jamie Rays, He is actually the big cheese here and does all the arrangements and put this whole group together. . To be honest, I am stunned by his creative ability to do these arrangements. From what I have read ( I am going to sound like one of your commenter trolls with this ) He is from Clearwater Florida and I believe went to school at Rollins College in Orlando, Florida. I live in Florida and I had never heard of Rollins college. Disney World ( very near Orlando) has a group that performs called the " Voices of Liberty" It appears the Jammie recruited many of these members , I am guessing that Voices of Liberty was put together by Disney World. I might be wrong . I did listen to your reaction video of "come All Ye Faithfull' . I had not heard that one and you were right, it is insane, Scott of Pentatinox ( who is really the prodigy of Pentatonix and responsible for most the arranging) and Jamie Rays are just gifted people and I am in awe to be honest. Thanks Jen We love you. With love from Florida

hello jennifer. really enjoy your reactions especially to a capella. i dont know if anyone ever recommended citizen queen to you. it is an all female a capella group that was formed by scott from pentatonix. they dont get enough attention imo. it is hard to make a capella work without male voices but they do it an i feel they deserve more recognition.

I only heard about Octave lady year. Although I don't follow them, I watch reactions to them. Thanks for sharing this! I discover new things when I watch your reactions. I watched your reaction to Dimash when he sang " Ave Maria " When you sais he only used the "ah" vowel the entire song I thought " Wow! He just had a serious vowel movement!"

This is the first REAL exposure to Voctive. The fact that YOU are the one reacting, drew me in. I listened to one performance by the group. It was a live studio performance that was HEAVILY auto-tuned. That turned me off. But thanks to your superb break down I have a new appreciation for them. Jennifer, you are the BEST.

I spotted a Fil fans...🙄
@charliecampbell68512 жыл бұрын
It was not heavily auto tuned. That guy made that video.... and it was a disaster. There are plenty of spots in the Disney Princess Medley where there are slight tuning problems in the chords. And then the hour of power video he watched was the worst live performance of Voctave on the internet. 1 take, bad mics, didn't get to warm out, etc. Search 'kvon Voctave sings at cafe' to hear them live. Recorded on a phone, sung spontaneously, no production. I understand that Fil showed the tuning on a graph and then played a voice pad next to it. The voice pad *also* wobbles the pitch, and Voctave is perfectly capable of singing that close to pitch given as many takes as they want and a professional studio setup. I mean, for Pete's sake, they met at Epcot singing a capella off mic. Jamey Ray has done several interviews, and in several of them he stresses that they do NOT use tuning. On their recent 'deluxe' Christmas album, they did use some tune matching and it's a huge difference from the sound of their other albums. Check it out. Compare the tone on Disney Princess medley to the tone on any track on the deluxe Christmas album.
@charliecampbell68512 жыл бұрын
Also: the Disney Princess medley was not a live studio performance. Voctave doesn't have a huge budget for videos, and so many of their early videos are just them singing along to the recording in-studio.
