Through the phonetic study of the text she obtained the perfect French pronunciation. Fun epic background note... The backup singing is always diagetic unless the main singer is a god or very magic person. This means that the backup singers at the end jere are his soldiers witnessing him kill the baby.

Yes on 19.50, it's a sub chord, a secondary dominant II7 (Ab7) that's why she hit the C instead of the original B. She also hit the low B, climbing up using the chord tones which made the chord Ab9.

On 17.55, I'm not sure what the original chord is, but I'm sure the II7 is a sub, a secondary dominant. And that lick really matched the chord. I don't know know wether the improvisation is pre-rehearsed or not, but it is really a bold manuver, even crazier if it was not pre-rehearsed pure improvisation on spot.

I just realized you could change very little of the Just a Man chorus to make it make sense with “I’m not your man” I’m not your man, I’m trying to go home, Even after all the years away from what I’ve known!
