The good thing about that crossing on 89 is that you can hear a vehicle coming well before you can see it, so you generally have plenty of time to cross the highway without any problems. It's very cool seeing video of places I've hiked.

You should also do the parts of the JMT that you missed Starburst. From Red's Meadow to Yosemite Valley. Or you could hike down to Hetch Hetchy reservoir, the Little Yosemite Valley. That is what it looked like before it was dammed for San Francisco's water supply.

Regarding the rashes you both experienced. It looked like on some parts of the trail there was a plant called cow parsnip crowding the trail. This plant will cause a skin rash and is made worse by sun exposure due to phototoxicity. It's not as bad as it's cousins giant hogweed or wild parsnip, but still problematic. A local botanist or park staff may be able to verify (or not). Once you know what it looks like you know to avoid it. Great scenery! It's wonderful to see you two enjoying the outdoors and having fun along the way despite the challenges. Thanks for sharing.

Loved the background music to the spectacular scenery that you filmed. I am tapping the screen with my trekking pole - for some day in the future Whimsical and Dyna will experience on trail; strong bouncy and pain free feet, insects that don't bite, rashes that are only pink, self combing hair, sweat that smells like spring blossoms and a never ending supply of cheese and gummy bears ...... some day!

Another funny fun video . . . My feet quit smelling when I started wearing Darn Tough socks (not a sponsor ;o) Maybe it's the wool they are made from. Polyester is not good. DT socks always smell clean even when they are crusty with dirt . . . I get a rash like that as well but its 90% of the time only on my calves. This year I got some on my calves hiking the sierras. I never get it in the winter. Turns out that it's what they call "Golfer's Rash" which is a type of *vasculitis*. If you look it up they always show horrible pictures of the worst cases. . . Mine looks just like yours.

@@JenniferMabus When I'm home and get it , it goes away in about 36 hrs but can last for a week on trail. It never bothers me. I use to worry about it but not any more. The first time I got it 25 years ago I thought it was poison oak. Doctor have me cortisone but that did not work. I tested it on one leg but got it the same on both legs anyway. It comes and goes in the summer for 20 years but almost always just at the beginning of summer. It's an *autoimmune* issue
