I've just started an art channel and I've been using a cheap stand up tripod. I put it on it's side with the legs collapsed on a stack of boxes. Then I put a 1kg bag of animal feed on the legs as a counter weight. Then I mount my phone. I've filmed a few videos like this and it's quite effective but I'd like the all in one stand with the light for the sake of space saving. Thanks for the video.

That's an amazing idea (about the animal feed as a counter weight). It just shows you that you don't need anything fancy to get started!

Thanj you for this. I don't even take pictures of myself or others all that often, so was hoping for some tips for tripods and this was great for that. I love that last one, since it has the camera and light built into it.

I saw reviews on the first one saying it wasn’t strong enough so I didn’t get it. I think I’m going to stick to the one I have which is the second one!

The one thing I can't locate online is whether you need a separate monitor to film your videos if you're using your phone; I'm new to this, so I keep thinking you need to see what you're filming to know you're still in range and/or the image is clear.
@geegee9991 Жыл бұрын
The camera or back of your phone is facing down. And you are looking at the face of the phone so you can see exactly what you are filming. If you haven’t done it already, search for a video of somebody actually taking the video, showing step-by-step.
@Sammy_47 Жыл бұрын
@@geegee9991 but that seems odd if it's an overhead shot and you're sitting. If the phone/camera is facing down how can you see? You would have to stand....that's the visual I'm getting. I will try to look up more info....thx

@@Sammy_47 I’m thinking of starting a yt channel and this is the exact question I also have.
@Sammy_47 Жыл бұрын
@@yolandal2176 You do need another monitor to make sure you're still in frame; I follow other creators and they've mentioned it before. Doesn't make sense to film for hours and not be able to see what you're doing; you could end up filming a blurred video.
@yolandal2176 Жыл бұрын
@@Sammy_47 Thank you. I am searching this information and more right now. I have not seen any yt creator mention this. I thought it was just me.

Thank you. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this. I've heard that it is a good idea to connect the phone that is doing the recording to a secondary tablet so that you can watch the tablet and monitor what you are filming as you're filming. Do you know anything about how to do that?.

Hey Jennifer , This was gr8 ! Please could you make a video on how you contact your clients ? Whether you cold call ,cold mail? (And the next question might seem silly 😅) Whether you provide ur contact no,personal email id to ur client ,or you have a diff number & ID for so ? Do u connect with them for conversations on skype or on whatsapp, or signal ,telegram, google meet ,zoom ,Google duo ? Keep uploading such great content😊 and plz do cover this doubt in ur videos too cuz many of the newbies have such doubts!

hi, could you comment on whether the base in the third one remains visible in the shot when shooting overhead, especially when it is raised a bit further up?
@erinserrano1897 Жыл бұрын
I have it. Tbh it slants over because my phone is too heavy for it. Because it slants the bottom does show a little bit

I have the 3 in 1 tripod but the base keeps showing in the overhead shots. How do I get the base not to show?
@JenniferMarieVO Жыл бұрын
You should be able to extend it upwards as far as possible and then there is a hinge that extends the device outwards to the left. Also try to make sure you position your phone correctly so that it isnt looking at the base. The brand you got should include a guide so you can see what I mean!

How do you record overhead shots with your phone and a ring light without glare or reflection?
@JenniferMarieVO Жыл бұрын
It's better to film with a secondary ring light or light off to the side to avoid glare and film at day time near a window to take advantage of natural light.
