@@udontevenwannaknowbruv agreed. Btw if your combo skin ( dry and oily) dont use cream cleansers it fucked me up. Use gel or foaming cleansers. Theres hydrating ones and just stripping ones search well. Btw less is better dont get a 10 step routine. I have 3 steps and clearing up. But your genetics also tell if u get alot of acne too. If u looking for a sunscreen i get mine from trader joes. Dont go to close to your eyes it burns like hell with it. But overall works good. Apply every 2 hours.

@@NovellaDeParmesano I’m not very educated on sunscreen and the ingredients, but for awhile I used a clear face broad spectrum sunscreen, Neutrogena SPF 30. Whenever I’d apply this after doing my usual skincare, my skin felt hot and would look very red/agitated. I kept trying for awhile and felt my skin just looked better without it, so I stopped using sunscreen altogether. I wouldn’t even say my skin is sensitive either. I’m not sure what to use or why that happened :(

@@ieattrees8551 Maybe a more natural sunscreen would be gentler on your skin? Sometimes it's just a single ingredient that doesn't agree with your skin though..whether natural or not. I like "Salt and Stone spf 30". :) Also sometimes the sunscreens made for the face, or made for babies, can be gentler, but not always. I try to find products with ingredients that I understand.

@@ieattrees8551 oh my dear, I Eat Trees! You sound JUST! Like! Me! I have been testing spfs for a hot minute! I cannot allow myself to skip it, even though I look a hot mess lol! But what I have found for ME, is that my skin is sensitive to the main filter named avobenzone! Which really beyond sucks because I live in America! Avobenzone is the main and most popularly used filter here in chemical spf. My skin gets hot, beet red, irritated, stinging the whole shabang! And! My skin hates mineral spfs! It feels so tender, mega dry and burning! Not to mention I look like a ghost lol. So I just suffer through and religiously try spf like I change my underwear! It's beyond a thorn in side, however! I refuse to not wear it so I'm doing it to myself lol! I know though, that my skin and appearance will be sooo much better for it in the long run so it keeps me motivated to keep plugging away. This was an insanely long way of saying to be mindful of spf filters and research how your skin reacts
@msk-qp6fn
@msk-qp6fn Жыл бұрын
@@ieattrees8551 My eyes are really sensitive to octocrylene, octinoxate, and osticilate. But I also found that whether a product with those filters actually stings my eyes are also a matter of formulation, so I would encourage you to keep on trying and don't give on. But in the mean time, try opting for sunscrens with mineral filters(zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) and newer chemical filters (tinasorb s/bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, uvinul a plus/diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, etc). Pipette baby mineral sunscreen said to be a moisturizing and nourishing sunscreen, and isntree hyaluronic acid sun gel and beauty of joseon and scinic enjoy super mild sun essence are great chemical korean sunscreens that use new generation uv filters and is said to feel really light on the skin.

I noticed you didn't seem to rub any sunscreen around your eyes. Why is that? Also, love that you now include vitamin C. Great for collagen synthesis, a fantastic anti-oxidant for outside pollutants, and it increases the efficacy of sunscreen. I particularly love vitamin C with built in Ferulic Acid which increases the efficacy of vitamin C. I'm soon going to be switching over to Vitamin C + EGF (epidermal growth factor), and I have a little jar of Ferulic Acid powder that I can mix in a little in my palm. I love combining my vitamin C with whatever my is in the mood for that day. Usually Niacinamide. At night, I love combining my Tretinoin with peptides (broken pieces of protein that trick the skin into thinking it's injured, thus invoking a repair response).

I wear corrective soft lenses and want to avoid undue irritation. If I don't get too close to my eyes with it, I'm A OK. I wear a broad-brimmed hat and call it a day. I'm just being honest with exactly what I do. Is it enough or even adequate? Maybe not, but it's satisfactory for me, and I can maintain these practices daily, which is what matters (to me). As I said, don't follow what I do. I'm simply sharing what I do.

@@JenniferMyers - Oh, that's completely understandable. My eyes used to get soo burny and irritated from putting sunscreen around them. What I do now is use a little bit of powder (pressed or loose, it doesn't matter), and I set the sunscreen into place so it doesn't move. So even if I'm not wearing makeup, just a little powder keeps it from seeping into my eyes. My eyes are soo sensitive. Absolutely anything makes them burn and cry. And since I've been doing this, I have zero irritation from sunscreen. You seem to take such good care of yourself, I'm sure that you'll be fine - sunscreen around the eyes, or not. Thanks for sharing, sweet.

I alternate between them because I enjoy both. It also "stretches" my tretinoin to use something else in an alternating fashion. Additionally, I've been using tretinoin for over 20 years now, meaning I'm in maintenance phase, which means it's simply not necessary for me to use it every single night. I take hiatus from it periodically, too, and I just moisturize. When you've been using it for as long as I have, it's really up to you to self-manage your treatment as it were.

Love the mention of physical exfoliation. It’s such a taboo in other areas of the skincare community, but ever since I’ve added daily, gentle physical exfoliation with my tretinoin use, my skin has gotten like 10x better. I noticed you don’t moisturizer the whole face with the CeraVe. Does the sunscreen provide enough moisture for you to not need it?

The Olay sunscreen alsooffers hydration, so this might be the reasoning behind the application method. I've seen derms like Dr Dray recommend that method because most modern sunscreens are moisturizing plus applying a dedicated moisturizer just prior to spf might inhibit its efficacy if the products mix. Hope this helps.

Wow, welcome back! I didn't know till now that you're back posting new content. Love your thoughtful & helpful videos. Please continue to share. Just a quick comment on your CeraVe moisturizer. I also love that particular one. You were right about the fact that it may not have anything as strong as retunoids so it is relatively inert compared to tretinoin, but it does have veey active & great ingredients like niacinamide, which has many benefits that complement the effects of retinoids, as well as naturally occurring skin substances like hyaluronic acid & the ceramides that all CeraVe products have, of course. Those last two ingredients help to retain moisture on the skin & that certainly is helpful for counteracting the peeling & drying adverse reactions induced by tretinoin.

I cannot get tretinoin prescribed as I am in a foreign land and barely speak the local language, but I can get my hands on adapalene from the pharmacy because it is otc here and they do sell some decent retinol products if you know where to look. Retinoids are the only actives I use to treat my acne and by tangent hyperpigmentation. A vitamin c product would be a nice addition, but it's too expensive for me to have both a good retinoid product and a good vitamin c product, so I stick with retinoids. Also, sunscreen, of course. The best sunscreen is the one that you will keep using, and I have been enjoying Holika Holika Aloe Waterproof Suncream. It was been working well for me but recently I feel like it's irritating my face (fine on the body though), so I am going to switch soon. Probably going to try Paula's Choice body and face sunscreen I bought about a month ago.

I absolutely love your videos and all of the helpful information you provide. I also use retina and using a washcloth in the morning is a game changer! I did it for the first time today and I didn’t have any peeling during the day. Such a simple solution. Thank you!!
