Correction needed - 1st thru 29 is only 29 days. Also as others have commented. The first official day starts with the 2nd. So someone arriving on the 1st of April will need to depart by May 1. This has always been the case.

Hi Jen, On previous trips to PI, the 30 day visa commenced on the day after arrival. Say I landed in Manila on the 03/30/22 the stamp in my passport would show 03/31/2022 therefore my last day of exit would be 04/30/2022 which is 30 days. Hi Jennifer, I already left a comment after I arrived in Manila finally after 2 years, thanking you for the advice helping make my entry very easy last week March 3, I was out of NAIA T3 in less than 20 minutes. I also said this before, but I am just repeating based on this video. I was not asked to show my return ticket on entry, nor my insurance. Of course I don't regret having them ready, but, again, I was not asked to present them at all. The only interest was Vaccination Status and my RT-PCR. I will say though, before Covid, when I travelled back and forth to Australia when I was working in Manila, I lost count of the number of times the check in staff at Perth Airport said my return ticket was outside of the 30 day visa free entry, of course I had a work visa so this didn't matter. It was never an issue coming through Immigration in Manila, obviously because I had a visa and an APEC Business Card. Keep up the great work Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer terri. I arrived yesterday at Mactan airport with my 3 year old daughter . was surprised coz I didn’t know that we have to get swab test upon arrival including my 3 year old daughter . There is a way to avoid the 30 day exit ticket. On arrival when at the immigration booth, tell them you would like to pay for a 60 day extension right now. They will send you to a desk off to the side. That officer will take the money to a cashier and then give you 2 stamps, 1 for 30 days and1 for 60 more days. Then your ticket only has to be within 90 days. I do this everytime I enter without the wife.

Before the next topic on where to get the antigen test….look for DOH accredited centers in your area or anywhere.There’s lots of them. Some come in tents where you can walk, there are clinics where you can drive thru and you stay in your car while you get swabbed, and you can go to a hospital and they’ll direct you where to go. Lastly make sure they’re open on the weekends because if your return back to the US is a Monday, your antigen test should be done on a Sunday. I hope this helps.

Hello, I paid 16 dollars to have a direct flight and I just got a website message saying that the route could not be found and they charged my card. I wrote to customer service and they answer that there was a problem with the route and i will get a refund in 7 days! And they left me without ticket and no idea what to do. Basically I had to pay again and try again?? without my refund and maybe not working again=?! I am at the airport and I needed the confirmation so now I am looking other sites. Hi Jennifer, I tested positive for covid on the 19th January in the UK and can confirm that i subsequently had a negative test result 6 days later. On the 25th April i intend to fly out to the philippines. What's worrying me is that a PCR test taken 48 hours before i fly could pick up that I had a positive result 3 months before and come back as positive. So the question is what evidence does the philippines require that i'm now currently negative? Will I still be allowed to gain entry?

@gerald - the "proof of recovery certificate" is a privilege only for Filipino citizens. If you are a foreigner, you must get a negative RT-PCR test result before your flight. The airline won't let you board otherwise. I suggest that you test yourself (antigen) a few days before your scheduled flight. If you still test positive, then you'll have to reschedule your flight.

Hello Jennifer. I hope you are doing fine. I've been following your page as a subscriber since the pandemic started. I just want to let you know that you do a great job on keeping everyone updated on travel news to get backed to the Philippines. I'm finally going to see my wife there after 2 1/2 years. I will be arriving back in the Philippines on June 17. Jennifer i do have a question for you. Before the Philippines opened back in February the ITAF stated that the only way that a foreign national to enter the country is that they had to be married to a Philippine National. So at that point i was going to start the process of applying for a 9A Visa to enter the country. But my wife and I decided that it would be a good idea to come in June that way i could be there for my birthday celebration in July. So at that point i purchased my plan ticket for the 59 days, which is the time that is given for the 9A VISA. . Then the country opened and they said you can only stay 30 days and then they said recently that before you leave the country you can get extension on the 30 day VISA, So do i still need to apply for the 9A VISA and can i still stay the 59 days since I'm married to a Philippine National. I have a return ticket but the question also is do i have to show the exit ticket? Also, what required documents do i need to show immigration that I'm married to a Philippine National... Thanks

@eyal - if you live in the USA, I've heard that having a Schwab bank account is beneficial (not much ATM fees). You can withdraw money from ATMs, but there will be a fee (BPI & BDO machines are OK.) Some banks will not allow you to open an account if you're on a tourist visa or if you don't have the ACR card.

If you have a bank account in your home country, you can probably just withdraw cash at most ATMs. HSBC lets you withdraw with no fees. You can also send Western Union to yourself (send in your home country, pick up in the Philippines).

@@eyal.s.8306 For BDO & BPI withdrawals from the ATM, the charge is 200 or 250 pesos (4 or 5 usd, I forgot how much exactly). You can withdraw up to 10,000 pesos per transaction (~200 usd). Some BPI machines (not all) allow 20k pesos withdrawal in 1 transaction. If you plan to stay long term in PH, get the ACR card (or a residence visa if you're qualified) so that you can open a bank account. Good luck.

My experience has been that the airline wants to see it cuz they have to fly you home if denied entry. I've been asked if I have an onward ticket but have never shown one. The airlines however have actually called to assure my ticket was legit

When I landed in Philippines end of February all I was asked was what day I was leaving and didn’t ask for actual proof. I agree that one health pass is silly as they want all your other documents aswell which is what is registered. it only takes 10 minutes to register online. I suppose it’s a pain if you don’t have access to a printer at work or at home.

Hi Jen You are doing a great service for everyone. I do have a question. Does my throw away ticket need to be a return back to the country I arrived from. I plan to come to Philippines from USA. Can throw away ticket be a flight to Singapore to fulfill my less then 30 day requirement.

I believe it doesnt have to be return ticket to your home country. You can book a return ticket to the nearest asian country because that is okay to just ‘throwaway’.

Question 1: If our transit airport is Manila, (flying then directly to Cebu), can I show at the MLN terminal an exit ticket from Manila to Singapore or do I have to show an exit ticket from Cebu to Singapore? Question 2: If our transit airport is Doha, (flying then directly to Cebu), can I show at the CEB terminal an exit ticket from Manila to Singapore or do I have to show an exit ticket from Cebu to Singapore? I am trying to purchase one for next week‘a travel through safety wing but I was told that since I am still in the US they can’t sell me insurance and that I have to cross the borders before I can get one. No other requirement in the UK, just your passport as normal. Its now free travel to UK as long as you have valid visa or British passport.

not much is required if you are travelling back to the US. Just a proof of vaccination and your passport or visa if you are a tourist.
