The nurse in the scene was to be Steve’s wife. They filmed an extended ending where she talked to DJ out in the hallway and wanted to get back with her ex husband and DJ said to go for it. She mentions his name is Steve Hale and walks off and they ended it there. But they cut that scene and ended it in the hospital room so no cliffhanger and no new character in the way. Probably because they knew season 5 was gonna be the last. Only those who were at the season 4 finale taping saw it taped. Would be nice if they air the scene as what could have happened in season 5.
