I once happened, by pure chance, across an event (in Yorkshire) at which Jenny was a guest speaker. She has already impressed me over the years with her acting skills in the movies, but her real ‘ordinary’ speaking voice was truly something to savour. So gentle, so smooth, so measured, but at the same time, appearing neither contrived nor forced. A lovely lady I could listen to for hours.

I can remember years ago . She was tutoring young inner city children on underlying messages of movies. Also, how to correctly interpret the stories of books. Donating All her free time for these kids in Los Angeles . It was comprehension of Literature. To this day I know of no other greater deed, other than sacrificing ones life. Or to save another life. Human or not. But maybe she did save lives by helping people understand the written word. Such a remarkable person she is.

A remarkable and charming actress, I've just stumbled on a copy of The Railway Children, I had no idea that Jenny Agutter was in the principle role as I watched it. As a child I played in a railway tunnel and remember well the horrific excitement of realising that a train was coming, and there was no escape in any direction, other than to hide, bracing msyelf on the sides of the workers' cubby holes as the Charing Cross to Hasting electric train rattled past my nose, in Elmstead Woods tunnels. Sitting, retired in Siam now, feeeling a a litle nostalgic, the film made me feel charmed again especially for the past that has mostly vapourised now. Thanks Jenny and the cast...xx

I saw Walkabout on TV when I was young, 11 or so, and found it very interesting, and noted 16 year old Jenny in it as well. Later I saw Logan’s Run where I really enjoyed her and Michael York, and her other films and eventually connected her back to Walkabout. I was then pleased to see her in American Werewolf. She appeared on American TV later in an episode of Newhart, his 80s sitcom. In it, everyone gets to live out their favourite fantasy, and Larry Darryl and Darryl want to host a talk show to be able to interview their favourite movie star, which was Jenny. She appears briefly with them in a talk show set.

The way Jenny speaks is not about being ‘posh’, whatever that might mean. No, it’s about upbringing, attitude, values and self discipline. Believe you me, money doesn’t play a prominent part in this. My mother had to live on a remote islands in the Pacific for a time, is now 92, and still does her washing by hand. Yet, she speaks the clearest most perfect English. Maybe, it’s more about fair play and the beliefs of those that set out, to other parts, from those islands off the mainland of Europe.

Regarding LA, she absolutely nails it. So many come here to find something, but the successful ones come here to BRING something. Like she says re: You choose your spot and put up what you want and decorate your home how you want is how it works, you make it what you want. This was even the plot point of a tv episode I worked on where Tim Minear, the extremely talented TV writer, (The Inside episode 1 was the show) had the smartest investigator realize you don’t come to LA to pretend to be something you’re not. You come to LA to be and to bring who you ARE.

Whenever I think of Jenny Agutter, I remember the scene in _Child's Play 2_ where she yelled at Andy Barkley and blamed him for the death of her husband. I remember thinking that she was going to beat the crap out of him. In this role, she went from being nice and decent, to being diabolically angry in a fraction of a second. That movie ruined my perception of Jenny Agutter, in much the same way that the rape scene from _Straw Dogs_ ruined Alexander Skarsgard for me.
