Why not role that inlet 90 at the regulator to face the wall and come straight through the wall into it? Nice and clean, then 90 off the inlet of the hose real toward the wall again and do a sweeping 90 bend with your hose to the discharge of the regulator? Lots of ways to do it i guess.

To make this pro u should put the reels at least 2 feet higher you almost never have to mess with them and they are always out of the way you can even let the lines hang a little so you can grob them quickly and when they retract back out af the way
@mclarenjohnf14 жыл бұрын
That is one nice compressor, I doubt if it will ever get used to full potential but it is there and ready if Ed decides to be more hands on. Also while I think about it he must fancy doing more to his own fleet or he had to spend money to reduce his tax bill.
@joecharles69104 жыл бұрын
Just curious why you wouldn't mount the hose reels higher on the wall keeping them out of the way? Outstanding project! I'm loving following along with this build.
@joecharles69104 жыл бұрын
Note, Just realized that you didn't have much height to work with where you ended up mounting the reels.

At a minimum the tank should have a zero loss automatic drain on it. With Atlanta humidity it’s going to get plenty of water in the tank when it runs. Water sitting in tank means Boom eventually. Guess it’s a good thing it’s in a closet.
@ObsessedGarage4 жыл бұрын
This garage is conditioned, so that is unlikely. Once a year should be just fine for that tank.

If the electrical panel isnt in that closet you should have a means of disconnect with in eye sight, or a breaker lock
@MikeFigueira4 жыл бұрын
Garrett Plant Yep it can be locked out at the breaker panel for service. No need for redundancy by adding an additional service disconnect.
@blaisewilson76394 жыл бұрын
@@MikeFigueira No Garrett is correct, it does need a local lockable disconnecting means, even if you install an actual lockout kit on the breaker (which I highly doubt you have), it needs to be within line of sight and 9m to meet code. You also didn't meet code on the lighting, the pot light can is not an approved junction box and the fixtures are not connected to the system ground. Will the way the light fixtures are connected work and be safe? Yes, but does not meet code.
@MikeFigueira4 жыл бұрын
To really do it 100% to code would have meant tearing the old cans out (which were not remodel cans) and replacing them with j-boxes and doing a lot of drywall repair. There simply wasn’t time and as you said this will be safe while not to nec. It’s a unique situation to have cans in a garage and replacing them with a 4’ fixture. As far as isolating and locking out power at the nearby sub panel it’s safe to do. There are effective breaker lockouts that don’t require mods to the panel not that this will ever need to happen here.

Should have installed a disconnect switch yes u have a breaker but why be lazy install a disconnect at the compressor do it once do it right. Also why no filtration for the air? And u failed to put a water trap in the line to be able to purge the line before the regulator all that water is going to settle in the low point of that expensive stainless line u just installed and not have a way to get out.

I love u matt but I had to cringe on this install so much was done wrong.
@Patrick94GSR4 жыл бұрын
@@norcalsrt1214 what, exactly, was done wrong? Since you seem to be the expert?
@norcalsrt12144 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick94GSR first off u need to have a water trap comming off the compressor, this will allow water to collect and be purged before it hits the reg and any filters u use in the system. The way matt built this system the water will condense in that stainless hose at the low point with no way to be purged. U should always come off the compressor straight out to a t, the t facing down with a line and drain installed then go up at a 90 vertical into the distribution system. Water will not go up the 90 and settle in the line comming down off the T. With an auto drain on the compressor and the trap off the t u will be free of water entering the system. This will also save u money on filtration as u wont be pushing as much water through ur desiccant filters. Also each line u drop for an air station should have a way to drain on the bottom.
@norcalsrt12144 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick94GSR and I'm no expert I just installed pure air systems for companies like intel, apple and others in silicon valley where water, oil and other impurities were a must remove. I have also seen in person what happens when someone has failed to drain a compressor tank ie explosion. I over built my own system but adding a water trap off the compressor is a must if u want to keep water and moisture out of the lines and save money on filters.
