I still love that last line "real heroes don't have to fight" it summarizes the game so well. Not only does it shows that Frisk attains the best ending, not by fighting, and coiming out as a true hero but it also shows that the real goal of a true hero is to reach an ending where no fight is ever needed again! It's definitely the most fitting line for this theme

It might just be me, but I don't know if that's what the line is meant to portray. I think that line is meant to portray the conflict that one has to overcome within themselves. That your heart keeps telling you to stop fighting, to lay down your arms. But that overcoming that feeling, to stand up and keep fighting for your ideals and those behind you, is that makes you a hero, despite wishing that you didn't have to fight.

In the Neutral and Pacifist Runs, Undyne isn't comfortable with slaughtering a harmless child. She doesn't feel like the hero she wants to be doing that, even if it saves everyone in the Underground if she does. She is better than that at her very core. So she holds herself back, either on purpose or unknowingly, giving you more of a chance. In a Genocide run, she doesn't even recognize you as HUMAN, let alone a child. You're just a threat to every living thing, and if she has ANYTHING to say about it, even if it costs her her existance, you will not be taking another goddamn step. Not while she stands. Not while she can still hold a spear. And she is gonna give it all she's got. A true hero indeed. This isn't YOUR boss fight against HER, it's HER boss fight against YOU. And if you pay attention, you find Hotland an awful lot emptier passing through after, implying that her sacrifice accomplished something: It gave Alphys plenty of time to evacuate as many monsters as she could from your path.

When Undyne turned into the Undying. Chills went down my spine, I knew this was gonna be just as hard, if not harder than Sans (as I was already aware of the Sans Fight). She's *this* difficult. Sans had to break rules of the game to be super difficult, Undyne doesn't need to do that, she's an honorable warrior who fights fair, I can only imagine what would happen if she did the same thing as sans and started attacking you when it wasn't her turn, and then activating KR on top of it. That'd be impossible for me. I only barely got past Undyne the Undying. and when I won, I took a moment to sit there and just admire their bravery, and naturally amazing Determination. Toby Fox did a really good job at making these characters, Undyne's probably my Favorite Character next to Papyrus just because of this, Undyne is definitely a warrior one could count on.

As a war veteran, I must thank Radix for being able to speak to me at certain points and touching on how complex fighting and dealing with the consequences of walking that path can be. While listening to this song I thought of all those people who are in the military, I thought of my father and how he was one of the lucky ones to have lived to come home. These people have been through hell and back to defend what they stand for. As I thought about this, and listened to this song over, and over again, I cried. Thinking of all those men and women, just wanting to go home to see their family's, their children. And, even if they do live to see their family again, the pain still doesn't end. All the mental trauma that they had to go through, and always will. Please, if you bothered to read this to the end, listen to the song again, but this time, think of it from a soldier's perspective. I hope you will be able to respect them even more than you do now. Because, no matter what side they are defending, they deserve respect and nothing less. My first playthrough, Undyne was my first kill. That one hurt terribly. I remember playing through the game feeling as though the monsters I was coming across in those moments were friendly and didn't deserve violence. Undertale is a game that subverts expectations and I was semi aware of it going in because I watched an intro on YT, saw it was cheap, and decided to play spoiler free. But the way they wrote the Undyne encounter, it felt like a natural escalation, like she would be the catalyst to either kill me or capture me, either way ending my game. I attempted to run, couldn't, and thus thought I was locked in. That scene hurt.

Just absolutely perfect for this theme as it fits Undyne's character to a 'T'. 00:00 to 00:57 is near 10/10, your voice strong and building up with the music, honey for my ears! However, 00:58 till 01:24 sounds a bit off note, with the last sentence ' Every single DREAM they had' being the best example. From 01:25 the music is a tad too loud and drowns your voice a bit, which is a shame. I also agree with a comment from dancingwholeness that some notes are sounding flat. Yet, for someone who is doing this for fun, you are one of the better singers on KZbin. *I am not bashing you, just trying to help you!* I mean, I am not even allowed to criticize you since I know next to nothing about music and can't sing myself! I usually hate- NO, I DESPISE - when people add lyrics and vocals to the soundtracks that don't really have them. I mean, I appreciate the effort and the talent, but just don't fix something that's already perfect! THAT BEING SAID. I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS. This is a perfect case where lyrics and beautiful vocals enhance the soundtrack itself, even further emphasizing the character in question. This is something I could easily imagine being put into a tv show or an anime in a very critical moment in the story. Beautiful.
