@13:30 -- 4+20+4 bytes of memory allocation to the struct is wrong. Compiler does padding so to align all struct fields to word boundaries. Accessing data across word boundaries crashes the program with SIGBUS. A word would've 8 bytes on most systems. --- 1st word: --- int: 4 bytes padding: 4 bytes --- next word: --- char[20]: 20 bytes padding: 4 bytes --- next word: --- float: 4 bytes padding: 4 bytes A total of 40 bytes would be allocated Please correct if I've misunderstood the memory allocation concept
