Without giving any actual details on why they think it’s so amazing and why I need it. And most of the time they don’t show swatches. And when they do they’re usually useless (too quick, or don’t show them well, etc.). So I just can’t be bothered with TikTok 😅

I have to admit there are many beauty content creator videos that I used to enjoy watching that I scroll pass because there are less make-up tutorials and skin care education and more pushing the latest products. I feel bombarded and overwhelmed by all these "You need to have this in your life," videos and influencers who change their holy grails on a monthly basis, I'm grateful for your channel, as I feel you are more interested in helping us make smart decisions about new products and demonstrating make-up applications. I wonder if that is because so other creators overuse “dupe” and wearied or confused. Perhaps you could have a battle between the same types of new high and low cosmetics or your older ones. I find myself watching those at times. I am interested in budget options for hair, beauty and skin, but I want value for my budget. Outside of beauty, I watch some historical cooking, knitting, and random history. And the pretty nature scenes with music or rain to rest my brain

I used to have maybe 5-6 beauty content providers that I watched all the time, including you. I have narrowed that down to two, you and one other. I will intentionally look for someone doing a video that is related to either a product that I am thinking of purchasing or one that I have purchased and am having difficulty using. I appreciate your videos so much and I'm glad you're here. So far, your content always shows up when I come to KZbin. I have not been on TikTok at all. My husband just bought me the ND My Dream palette as an early birthday gift during the black Friday sale. I've never tried anything from Alter Ego. The matte shades were definitely spot on. I'm glad that you aren't leaving, I prefer longer content. I rarely see anyone I follow on my homepage, I just go to my subscriptions. They are trying to be like TT and push the shorter content but I'm old and enjoy watching longer videos and getting to know the creators I follow instead of watching multiple random short videos. I can't imagine the pressure of having my income dependent on algorithms and the attention span of strangers. I love the look you created. I'm definitely going to look into Alter Ego shadows. I don’t pay attention to my home page. I watch KZbin all the time and always have a video paused in the background when I am not able to watch, so I only check my subscription feed. Do not ever rely on your home page to give you decent recommendations. This is why I rarely look at my home page. When the app updates and it refreshes, I immediately go to my subscription feed, even though it opens on the home feed.

I’ve followed a few youtube “influencers” and over last year I’ve canceled my subscription to their account because I don’t see anything new! I’ve learned what I needed from them and it’s like taking a course! Once you’ve learned something you need to move on! Especially since now they’re trying to sell a brand or skincare etc! These people are young and honestly they shouldn’t talk about skincare cause they have beautiful young skin! Your videos, on the other hand, are about 1. Drugstore brands 2. Their quality 3. What I’m watching most are longer videos. I want to see 40 minute+ videos in my subscriptions, because I have them on while I do other things. I get excited when I see someone I like has posted a 2 hour declutter, or “swatching all my xyz” video. I miss your Sunday hauls for that reason. Those were my favorite of your video types. ❤️

Whew, you scared me….so happy you’re staying. Your husband is amazing giving you that great advice, I hate when Utube decides to tell you what we like or don’t like or want to see. All they want is their growth not yours…keep doing what you’re doing, I look forward to your videos. I’m usually a luxury/prestige makeup person, but I found your channel around a year ago and I love your content! There’s only a couple of KZbinrs that I always watch, you are one of them and the other is a luxury brand reviewer. You’ve taken me out of my comfort zone and I’ve tried drugstore brands that you’ve reviewed. Some I’ve actually loved more than my most expensive brands. I find your voice to be very soothing. If they watched any of your content they would know you are better than that. 3, if I don’t see a video from you on my home page I just go to your channel because I like to keep up with your content whether KZbin pushes it or not!

For me, I significantly reduced the amount of influencers I used to follow. It’s too much of the same content over and over. Also, less temptation, spend less etc. I love your content because it’s creative. A lot of others aren’t putting in the effort to keep it interesting. Love Vlogmas, love the birds, the deer and views of your beautiful town.

1. I enjoy your content. It is like chatting with a friend. I trust you and feel you are genuine. 2. I hear creators say they aren't showing up and I always reply you did show up for me. Recently I realized they mean on home page. I never scrolled that I always hit my subs and go straight to a long line of videos I signed up for. So lately I have been checking home page and rarely like a video or two of my subs come up. It is basically offering me new to me creators. The interesting thing is a lot of them are very small to small. Say 150 to 1000 subscribers. So that is curious. 3 my viewing has changed. A lot of health and fitness creators I loved have left. Some wait rarely post channel up no good bye but silent. I got into indie nail polish this past year so now enjoy a lot of that content. I still watch skincare and beauty though. Also went back more to my original learning content. 8 yrs ago my youtube was 4 main health fitness youtu era and lots of learning. Mostly health and functional medical. During covid that changed to more hobby friendship content. I also do not view short form content or use tiktok at all.l I have no idea if any of that helps, but there you go.

Jen, the biggest reason that I watched and continue to watch your channel is because you are honest and genuine. I understand you are running a business and have to adapt your business model based on what is most successful for you. The biggest reason I don't watch more of your videos is simply because I'm trying not to buy as much makeup and when I watch a lot of YT makeup videos, then I get FOMO and start spending money I really shouldn't. There's nothing you produce that I don't like, it's just that I know myself well enough that I don't want to make it harder to not spend money. I also wouldn't worry too much about opinions on Reddit. While it's good to know what topics are being discussed, I feel like Reddit goes down the dark hole of complaining to complain. Finding reasons to be unsatisfied. From what I've seen, you are one of the (if not THE) most respected influencers in the makeup YT community because you tell it like it is and provide information that is very valuable to consumers. If I'm going to spend money on makeup, I definitely want that product to work for me and spend the least I need to. You have changed my spending habits for the better over the years, and I thank you for that!! Keep up the great work!

I'm probably not the average person. I really like to listen to makeup and perfume videos in the morning while I'm getting ready and doing things around the house. So it's kind of a companion for me. I like to hear about products and ways to take care of my skin.

I’m a new subscriber, almost 70 yo (😱) and I really enjoy you and your content. You are intelligent. Professional. Mature. You are not involved with today’s colloquialisms which make me annoyed (Glow from within! I’m OBSESSED! This is the BEST you have to buy this!). Your content is smart and to the point, whatever the subject. I imagine how hard it is to keep everyone happy, but there are older people out there, lots of baby boomers, who still love makeup. I'll watch whatever you put out honestly..you are my favorite KZbinr I'm just drawn to your demeanor, content and the fact that you truly seem to like makeup for makeup sake and don't have any other agendas. So many other KZbinrs struggle to be wanting to do KZbin anymore and it makes it awkward to watch like they don't really want to be doing it. It's not fun to watch if you feel like their heart isn't in it. Personally I do love the Sunday hauls and k beauty or products that others dont do. I hate when it's very obvious a product is being pushed and all the sudden there's like 30 videos on that product

I'm glad your not quitting because I really enjoy your videos especially the more experimental ones. You have come up with some fabulous ideas in the last few months and I really appreciate your creativity! After 15 years on KZbin I decided to try TikTok instead and I enjoy a lot more than I did KZbin. I've got over 7,000 subscribers on KZbin but I should have WAY more than that after so many years of hard work. So I'm trying to grow my audience over there instead and have stepped back from KZbin. I can't do both because.... it would take too long to explain. I think I know what has held me back and it's for reasons that are beyond my control. I watch for specfic reviews, learning, entertainment and an escape where I feel like I am still kind of being social. I do bounce around a good bit. Interests and needs change. I love that you review a lot with drugstore products. I immediately thought I would love to see more of you doing byop or random number generator videos. Byop inspired by a book, movie/show, song, location,.... Not sure how popular these are but it is something I love watching and being inspired by. I also love videos where you go through a brand or specific item and show all you have with some quick reviews. Like, all of your colourpop palettes or your most used lip products from different brands. Plus, videos on the products you have been currently reaching for the most. Okay, this is long enough. Thanks for all you do and for being so transparent in this video. Hope all goes well!

I think the effort you put into your channel really shows.
