Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZbinr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. All I can say is THANK YOU for always giving us clear, well-lit swatches. I'm also grateful that you did so many comparisons. Many others did not compare this to Stone Cold Fox (which I have and really wanted to see). They also either just held the palettes up next to each other or they swatched certain shades but not the entire palettes. I appreciate you taking the time to swatch every single palette, it must have taken a while but your efforts do not go unnoticed! This is one of many reasons your channel is my favorite.

Hi Jen! Thank you so much for taking some time to try this palette before posting a review. Sometimes it seems like creators just post their review as soon as they get the palette because they want to be first and get the most views. You're the ONLY person I watch who didn't buy into the hype with this palette and actually gave an honest opinion after trying it for a while. I can tell that you actually care about your viewers and aren't just trying to sell us hype. I bet most of the people who raved about this palette won't ever mention it again.

Everyone keeps referring to this palette as a "cool toned palette" and I just didn't feel that way. Seeing your review confirms my suspicions that this really isn't cool-toned at all - at least not for people who have very cool-toned complexions. The fact it contains glittery toppers helped seal the deal for me . . . I do not need this. Thank you for such a thorough review.

Now that Natasha Denona has done numerous midi palettes, I think she needs to sell the shades as singles so that we can replace panned shades or trade out shades we don't use for shades we would use. Why else did she give us the little holes in the back of the palettes to pop out shadows?

I'm really happy that you did comparisons with ColourPop. I like how blendable CP's formula is and already have That's Taupe and Stone Cold Fox. Hearing the comparison, it confirms that I don't need this palette and can save some money without having FOMO.

Well she’s not a big fan of Natasha’s formula period, But that’s fine. I honestly think the majority of Jens opinions I agree with and the tone and undertone of her skin is so close to mine so almost everything she recommends works for me. I am actually a Natasha fan when it comes to her formula.

I do enjoy the Natasha Denona formula but I don’t feel the need to buy every palette. There are so many colour stories that I absolutely love and wish that I would get use out of but sadly I won’t. I use my Biba most days instead as it really suits my skin tone and green eyes and professional working life. I would have loved the Gold and Metropolis if I was 30 years younger.

Brittany Rae gave a luke warm and really well considered review pointing out some of the draw backs. And on IG some influencers weren’t so impressed - but all I have seen that weren’t overall fussed were from the Indi beauty community.

Thank you for comparing this palette to other brands, especially Moira. If a channel did compare I Need A Nude Palette to a brand other than Natasha Denona, it was the Ethereal Eyes or the Going Coconuts palettes. Thank you for being more thorough (because I seriously wanted to know if it was similar to Moira since I like their formula better than Natasha Denona, but I liked these two palettes and was so curious).

I got the palette in the mail a few days ago and I was slightly disappointed in the hype around the “sparkling wet effect” new formula. I didn’t realize they were glitter toppers. I don’t love that formula. But, that aside, I do think it’s a beautiful and super easy to use palette, and I’m happy to have it in my collection! I’ve loved all the looks I’ve made so far. I probably have 20ish palettes, so it’s not too redundant for me. And I don’t have any colourpop (but now you have me thinking about the stone cold fox!). I do have a lot of Natasha Denona’s other midi palettes, so it will also be fun to be able to mix the shades around again, including these. Great review, love your channel, Jen!

I appreciate that you included Stone Cold Fox and Bare Necessities in the comparison palettes, I've been waiting for someone to do this 😊 I would've liked to have seen more mattes and less shimmers. A couple of the shimmers (and the mattes) look very similar to each other, so, imo, these could have been adjusted to make room for different matte shades, ie : a cool lilac and/or a neutral green. I personally LOVE this palette and I like to use it alone or in conjunction with the Glam palette. It’s such a nice color story that has a few neutral/warm tones mixed with the cooler neutral tones. It doesn’t lean super warm, and on the flip side it doesn’t lean super cool either. Beautiful formulas and love it!

Yes! The "wet look" shadows are glittery toppers but it's a very fine glitter vs a chunky one. It's still not my favorite formula. Also I'm feeling SO much better now, thank you! :)

That is why I have held off. I don’t want chunky toppers. I want wearable shimmers. So many have said that it’s not chunky but that’s very hard to detect on camera. But based on the one mini ND palette I have, I’m skeptical I will like these.

I did buy it b/c I really do love Natasha Denona, especially Glam; but this one is not my favorite. I don’t find the mattes or shimmers very impactful. I duped it out with Sydney Grace shadows and I like that so much better. I do agree that Going Coconuts, Stone Cold Fox, and Makeup by Mario Ethereal were the closest in terms of color story.

It really looks lovely, but if the shimmers are best used as toppers, then I too, wouldn’t want it. I like shimmer shades to be exactly that. Although the shades are really pretty. I love to see all the swatches, it does make a difference to what the colours are really like in the palettes, as they often go on slightly different to what they appear to be. Thanks so much for going into such detail on this palette. I’m a cool toned eyeshadow lover, and I just find this palette way more warm than cool. I’m glad that I’m not the only one. I feel like everyone is going crazy over this palette, while I personally don’t find it exciting at all. I thought maybe I was missing something. I do have most of the other palettes you compared it to, including the Mario one, so I’m just going to stick with those and save my money. I really enjoyed your review. You always give the best swatches and comparisons. Although this wasn’t your favorite palette, it actually convinced me I might like it. I like that it has several lighter neutral mattes and they’re not overly cool. The only other Natasha Denona palette I own is the glam, and the mattes in that one were extremely disappointing to me so it’s been sitting in a drawer. I think if I ordered the nude pallette I could swap out some of the shimmers I love from the Glam and I’d have a great combo :)

I couldn't take it anymore and I bought it along with her newer concealer.. both of them arrived in the mail today I've been playing with the eyeshadow palette and I think it's gorgeous! This is my first Natasha Denona palette probably will be my last because I just can't afford a $70 palette... I justified this one because I knew I would use it a ton! Jen, I really appreciate your thorough and honest reviews! Your swatches are some of the best here on KZbin and we can tell you take the time to give us comparisons that are real alternatives and not just given on a whim. Thank you! To be honest, I wasn't even considering this palette because I'm not willing to pay $69 for any palette. I also have so many various nude shadows (mattes, satins, shimmers, glitters, toppers, etc.) in my collection that this is completely unnecessary. I have a couple of ND mini palettes and find that I don't reach for them because they are so pigmented and I find them harder to work with personally. I much prefer the inspiration palettes from Alter Ego (I have 5 now, 3 of which are inspired by ND palettes) because they are slightly less pigmented and much easier for me to work with. Plus they're much more affordable.

Jen, you are the BEST. I don't tend to spend the big bucks on high end palettes but it doesn't mean I don't want the high end look! I realize this is not about "duping" the ND palette per se, but I so appreciate all of the swatching you do and how hard you work to illustrate where other palettes match or overlap so you can potentially use something you already have or get a more affordable option if you love the look of the ND one. Your hard work and careful consideration and comparisons are so, so appreciated!

Welcome back, Jen! Happy you got a little time off. We missed you!! 😃 And thank you for weighing in on this palette; I was on the fence about it because of it's mix of warm and cool tones. You put your finger right on my pain point--glitter. Whether full-on glam or toppers, they are not my go-tos. I probably would have gone for this if the glittery shades had been shimmer or satin finish. I love the Retro palette for that very reason. Most of the "shiney" colors are very wearable satin or shimmer finishes, so you can wear them to work (as long you aren't heavy-handed--the case with any ND shadow I've ever used) without looking a leprechaun. ☘ And I love that the greens aren't just the typical dark olive, moss, camo colors. Thanks for saving me some change! 💰

It really is about creating an eye look that could be comparable! Not gonna get it. Had already decided prior to this video. My goal is to try to recreate with my Sydney Grace shadows. Thanks so much for doing this and the work you put in. I love the Stone Cold Fox palette, it is one of my go to's so won't be buying this one, and like you, I don't like glittery toppers either.
