Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZbinr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. As a teen, I did use the CoverGirl foundation, but ONLY on school picture day. I'm glad its in a tube now instead of the bottle. I remember using Qtips to get it out and rub it on my face with my fingers because we didnt have beauty blenders or brushes to apply. Covergirl has always remained a favorite for complexion products like their foundation. I have never tried ELF's version. I've only tried their concealer and an eyeshadow palette. I wasn't impressed with the concealer I tried, but I love the palette. I definitely want to try their foundation, including the one in a jar.

The new Benefit Plushtint matte lippies are a lovely formula. It honestly surprised me. It's definitely not the dry formula from just a few years ago.. I do want to try the Freck ones next. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

I recently bought the Elf soft glam foundation because of your recommendations and I love it! I bought the same shade as you, light neutral 21 and a cool shade just to balance out the yellow in the neutral one. Praying for you as always dear Jen! Be careful in the summer sun! Love your "best of" videos for sure! I am loving the Cover Girl powder foundation for a quick flawless coverage that works on dry skin - as you recommended a while back ago. Also loving the ELF lip oils and many of the exact items you recommend - not a coincidence. I bought the RMS starter trio on Amazon, and was disappointed with the blush, and lip balm. I got Bermuda Rose blush, and it's so light, it doesn't look like much. I'm light skin tone, and had to DIG to get it to show up...like 5 layers. The lip balm was ok, but it ends up feeling, and looking very similar to Revlon glass shine lipsticks, and have many of those from Amazon. Yes RMS lip balm formula is VERY stiff, but the end result is so similar to Revlon, I don't think it's worth the price. I have quite a few of those lip balm type lipsticks, and RMS isn't much different, except for the stiffness, and price. The saving grace was the cream eyeshadow in Halo. It didn't crease at all, and I've got an oil slick for skin, so I was pretty impressed with that😅

I’m trying to be a fan of the ELF foundation. Mmmm, I still don’t know. First, I’m 55. Don’t have all that much to cover. Dry skin. I bought 23 light cool. I think it looks peachy. I felt it to be heavy on me. That’s just me. I love my L’Oréal True Match. That just feels like my skin. c3 is perfect for me. As I tan I just move up the line. C4. lol. Maybe I’ll like this in the winter and not now.

Ok Jen, you and only a couple other creators can I ask this question. I asked Andrea M but I was way down in the comments when she was discussing the ND golden pallet. I love neutrals, they are my jam. Both warm and cool tones really. 1 of my fav eyeshadow brands is ND btw. I do have the Biba, most of her midis and a lot of her minis too! I only have the pink Patrick Ta pallet and haven’t even tried it yet honestly, but if I love his formula as well. I also have ND mini gold and baby gold too. If you could only purchase 1. The ND Golden vs Patrick Ta MD1. Which one do u get? Thanks in advance if you see and answer this. Bonus for me if your able to narrow this down also: ND yucca ( I’m coming off a couple year no buy) vs Odens Eye Stone and Rocks pallet. Love you and all your content!

Hmm...I think it depends on how much variety you want in a palette. The ND Golden is a bit monochromatic so I find that the looks I create with it are all very similar in the end. The Patrick Ta is a bit more versatile I think...and I can create more varied looks with it. If it were me, I'd probably get that one. Also Yucca vs. Odens Eye- that's a tough one! They're both good palettes but again I would probably say ND on that one. It's just a slightly better formula but I think you would be happy with either one. 🥰

Thx so much Jen, I don’t need any of it, but 2 is better than 4 new ones… lol. I came off a no buy but I immediately purchased 4 reg pallets and 2 minis and now I’m going to ad 2 more, but I would’ve purchased way more eyeshadow in the past couple of years then this. Also only a small amount of the other products I had wanted are being still talked about. I think in my continuing low buy status I’m only going to purchase what sticks around long enough to make it into one of your favorites videos. So this taught me to not immediately add anything or most things to cart. Thx so much for ur help!

Totally agree! I couldn't stop thinking about how Jen mentioned that Reddit post about her where someone said she moves her arms like a robot. First of all that's absurd... But when I saw the inclusion of bloopers my immediate thought was "it's relatable & makes Jen seem more "human" for lack of a better word. I think sometimes people forget that content creation takes up so much time & when editing, sometimes a creator (or whoever edits for them in some cases) may edit a video to the point that it's all info & zero "human", if that makes any sense. 😅

Hi Jen, I have a video request for you to try some products from your local beauty supply store (not Sally Beauty). Most of the stores in my area in New Jersey carry wigs and wig products, but they also carry cosmetics mostly from brands like Ruby Kisses, Nikka K who has a liner, both for lips and eyes, called Stay Ever Gel Liners that are the longest lasting eye and lip liners I ever used and they are only $1.99, they come in pink and lavender wooden pencils. I also saw some eye shadow palettes that seemed to be dupes for the Huda 9 pan palettes and blush duos with a cream and matching powder that dupe Patrick Ta, or at least they appear to be trying to. Also lip oil and glosses and click up melty sticks and lots of other products. I thought it may be a fun video.

I TOTALLY agree on the Winky Lux lip oil! I will never buy another oil. Most of them are useless. This one is literally the best. The one with the petals in it is clear and smells and tastes like cake batter but the oil itself is absolutely the best. I bought mine on Amazon. I’ll never use anything else!

Hi Jen, thanks for the video. I haven't tried any of these products so far, but I'm going to buy and try the new CoverGirl foundation in the next few days. I want to point out another difference between the CoverGirl and elf foundations. The Cover Girl, as far as I can tell, has no fragrant ingredients or added fragrance. The elf product has hibiscus extract, which is fragrant. IMHO, the CG product is more suitable for sensitive skin.

As so often happens the in Luxury vs Drugstore you pay more per ounce for the drugstore so the Luxury is a better deal. The Westman Atelier lipstick is $373.13/oz whereas the Freck Beauty lipstick is a whopping $800/oz!

I recently found a makeup brush that is comparable to Sigma, which are my favorite brushes. The brushes come from a brand called Teoyall on Amazon. The foundation brush is $5.00 and concealer is $4.00. They are fantastic! I LOVE the new Elf foundation!! It has become one of my favorites although I wish it had a little more coverage.- I hope they make a coordinating concealer. I have a Tower 28 cream blush that is the same shade as the It cosmetics. The shade is called Magic Hour. Love it! Also loving those Lumi blushes- they are a must have along with the new Nyx buttermelts. I'm also loving the Mario liquid bronzer even though it pills on top of moisturizer.

Your hair and makeup and clothing colors lately look amazing on you Jen! Just gorgeous. I think that the Lisa Eldridge velvet lipsticks are non drying as well. I have lots of those colors so I was not tempted by the Westman Atelier ones after trying them. Although I do love WA in general. But if those watching have not tried LE lipsticks (in the $35 range) I’d try those first. And sooo many colors!

I have been using the New lip tinted balm from Lisa Eldridge and this is my New lip balm as lipstick for everyday, casual makeup look. I purchased the Westman Atelier Je Reve about a month ago and I love it. As you mentioned it feels wonderful on the lips and very pigmented. I usually stay away from matte lipsticks since they feel dry on my lips but this was recommended to me by a beauty advisor at Sephora and I don't regret my purchase.

Before I even start the video, I had to tell you that the top your wearing and makeup is so pretty on you. Love the top color. Question, why did Utube change the links you show, before if I had Ulta already open on my iPad and if I opened your link to add to my cart it would show up in my cart. It doesn’t do that anymore, I have to sign into Ulta (for example) on your link or it will not add it to my already opened Ulta account on my iPad, then I have to sign out on your link or it will leave it open when I open another one of your links. Its sad that nyx cosmetics has become super expensive when they arrive in Mexico. The fat oils I got them abroad for around 8 bucks, and here they are priced at 12. The butter blushes are priced at 30, very disappointing

I have dry skin with a few signs of aging, and virtually poreless skin. I do have a few pores on the front of my cheeks around the nose, and between my brows. I know that the Impossible stick primer from Wet n Wild received mixed reviews, but I found that it really does a great job of blurring these areas. Great video, Jen! I shopped Miss A for the first time after watching.😊

Jen you know what's hilarious? I bought a purple aoa studio artista liner back in 2020 & it STILL WORKS! 😅🎉 Also, huge rms fan here, they're just so underrated! *I strongly dislike the scent on the rom&nd glasting balms. Idk what it is but it's got a weird taste & it also gathers in the corners of my mouth & creates these little chunks, even if i use the smallest amount!
