me too. i am just not into his new stuff at all.

Yes, the same for me. It's not even bad, if I listen to them objectively. They are catchier. I feel bad in a way, maybe it's just my nostalgia. I relate more to melancholy I suppose. I'm glad he is happier and retains his quirkiness judging by the songs, but it's no longer connecting with me.

couldn't have expressed it better myself. i feel like his new tunes are a bit... bland in lack of a better word, and i feel like he spent way too much time on the production to the point where it loses all charm. i like the imperfection of "when i said i wanted to be your dog".

Yes! I like their imperfections too, and how personal they were. Back then, every word and narrative was so personal I felt I wanted to know the people he was talking about. These days I am not curious about these 'strangers' in his songs. It's really overproduced that Jens (as a musician) feels so far away, unlike before, you felt like you knew him somewhere. Now he seems to perform for an audience. I could be wrong, of course.

yeah, but i guess this was bound to happen. this is after all what happens to most artists, when they succeed in making a name for themselves. lekman is far from the only example. it just saddens me that it seems as if creativity and sincerity decreases as popularity increases.
