For the swedes out there: I'm trying to learn Swedish now, and how come it's "kanske är jag" instead of "kanske jag är"?

The "kanske är jag" is probably something like "i might be".

Swedish has something called the V2 word order, which means that the finite verb generally comes in second position in an independent clause (after the subject or adverbial or something like that). So we say "Jag är kär i dig" but "Kanske är jag kär i dig" because the verb "är" must keep its second position. Google "v2 word order" for more information. :)
