@@TheChronicFiend DeBrincat wanted to fight Girard more than Girard wanted to fight DeBrincat. Go watch that fight from December 1st again, DeBrincat drops the gloves first. Then DeBrincat won the fight, a couple weeks later, Girard threw a dirty check at DeBrincat. It's not like Girard specifically targets smaller guys, him and DeBrincat have mutual hatred. However, Rinaldo totally sucked the shit out of Girard. Girard goes in to tie him him, isn't even looking at him, and then got socked in the clinch like that. I think it's unreasonable to say that he "got what he deserved" and "cant take a punch", that's a total sucker job by Rinaldo.

Godlikelobster01 I love salt, but the knights are the money makers of the NHL being the new girls, so they get special treatment right now. It’ll be over once Seattle starts skating, but last time I went to Seattle this bartender stopped serving me because I brought up the sharks. Two seasons in and Vegas people consider themselves die hard hockey fans or something when they probably never watched the game until the knights moved into town. Band wagoners are cheap, and there’s no salt needed for that observation

The Avalanche don't really get into fights anymore but if you go after our rookies we'll mess you up. I think this happened recently, someone on Arizona's team hit Makar and MacKinnon went after him. Is it just me that thinks that goalies that leave the crease to get to the puck with speed knowing damn well an opponent coming right at it with high speed should count as a skater? like with Binnington for example, what do you expect if you do something like he did? Anyway.. great compilation!
@N_manMETA11
@N_manMETA11 4 жыл бұрын
That would make sense on the surface, but you also have to consider the restraints a goalie falls under when posessing the puck. If they have the puck behind the goal line, they must stay inside the trapezoid. They cannot posess the puck past their own blue line. It's one thing if he's over by the boards with it, but he came out to challenge a breakaway... which is what a goalie is trained to do. They are supposed to come out of the crease to limit angles, so to say he should be treated as a skater is (again) a cool concept, but also incredibly unfair to goaltender safety, as they cannot evade hits and such the same way a skater can. Their sticks do not allow for accurate long range/cross ice passing or any type of shot really. They can't be a realistically dangerous offensive weapon, so treating them as a skater not only jeopardizes their safey further, but it wouldn't really help the team doing it. In fact, it would really only cause more trouble, you have to worry about the other team clearing and getting a goal, you have to worry about your goalie taking even more hits, because again, they can't really evade and escape. It would just be a bad rule in terms of practicality as well as being very unfair to the defending team.
@UNCLEBOBBY22

Puckman637 woah you don’t need to use that attitude against me, buddy. The sequence im talking about is just the one you described, I’m sorry if that wasn’ clear in my original comment, I’m not a native english speaker. I’m not saying they should get hit if they go to stop the puck or whatever behind the crease/close to the crease, but to challenge someone who he sees coming with such a speed and then be like ”woah did you just run over me?” Knowing damn well it was his fault, it’s just stupid. Thanks.

Man I don’t even watch ice hockey but I love how brawling is accepted as part of the game and the refs just let them go at it 😂 have your fight, take the sin bin, move on with your life. Awesome.

I don't know how some of the players restrain themselves, I mean, some of those hits are really dangerous to the head/neck. I would go crazy against someone who could have seriously injured my team mate, or worse, for little to no reason.

Mason Letoto They are all aware of the risk, they’ve been doing this since there children and don’t think that kids the age of 14 aren’t fighting and doing dirty hits too. It’s part of the game no matter the age. They are all pretty used to it and desensitized by it. They know what they are getting into and they know the risks. Growing up in Canada its not surprising.

2:00 That’s a moment you only see in hockey and the military these days and rarely. They’re tired, he sees why they are mad and he apologizes and takes the loss. They moved on instantly. No animosity. All men should be capable of solving their differences this way, sometimes words are enough sometimes they aren’t. Even if you don’t agree with what someone is willing to fight for, you get a real sense of who they are very quickly.

The hit by Hartman was super clean and well delivered. Kind of disappointing they fought about it since it was in no way dirty or predatory, just a good solid hit.
