Jensen Ackles + Corey Taylor - Wanted Dead Or Alive (First Time Reaction)

Some backstory on this preformance, since I didn't see it on here. Corey is a long time fan of Supernatural and is also friends with a lady who covers a lot of the SPNcons. When she found out that Corey would be at his home in Las Vegas while the SPNcon was there she asked if he'd like for her to reach out to Jensen and get him backstage for the Saturday Night Special (SNS) concert that Rob's band Loudenswain puts on at every convention. Corey said hell yes and Jensen, when he found out that Corey (Jen loves Slipknot btw) wanted to come, he jumped all over that shit and said he'd love for Corey to sing with him there. It was announced that a mystery guest would sing a song with Jensen, and the guesses of who it would be started flying around fandom. No one guessed correctly btw, and we were all blown away. There was lots of fanning going on all around in the greenroom that night. Corey returned the favor and invited Jensen to hang out backstage at a Slipknot concert last year. Steve Carlson was with Jen and posted some side stage snippets on his insta.

Did you catch Corey's comment before the song? He looks around at Jensen and Rob and the wild SPN fans then says: "I feel like I won a contest!" 😂 That is so cool he would say that and you could obviously see how ecstatic he was to be there. Corey has sold millions of albums, played concerts w/ 10s of thousands of people at them and yet he was acting like getting to sing at a Supernatural Convention was one of the best things he's ever done! I was so impressed w/ him.

@@CabalisticSpecies Most recent funny fanboy moment was when Mark Hamill replied to a post by Jared and then Eric Kripke was literally having the vapors over one of HIS idols fanboying over one of HIS shows. It was hilarious watching it go down on Twitter.

Definitely check out him singing Brother. I recommend the one he did in Vegas in 2017, because he had other actors from the show doing backup vocals for a bit and I loved the atmosphere of it.

Jensen's version of "Simple Man" is the only one I want to listen to anymore. And if you are a SPN fan, you might be delighted to listen to Jason Mann's "Covering With Friends" and "Recovering With Friends" Albums which are mostly covers with Supernatural actors. The number of SPN cast who are also musically talented is just ridiculous! There’s a video by Shaving People, Punting Things (they’re the post production crew) called Sacrificio that has Emily Swallow (Amara), Brianna Buckmaster (sheriff Donna) and Ruth McConnell (Rowena) singing a classical song- it’s haunting! Tim Omundsen (Cain) is also a singer and has sung on stage at conventions. As has Kim (Sheriff Jody). Mark Shepherd is a drummer and Jared can play guitar. I think the only main cast member who is not in any way musically talented is Misha Collins (who does have many other talents, to be fair, but music is not one of them). And I do really love Rob’s band Louden Swain. It’s a great band.

Corey went through a big chunk of time just randomly appearing in all kinds of unusual places. He appeared on QI here in the UK completely unexpectedly. I think there were a few other unusual appearances too, just a random Corey popping up where you'd least expect. I love that about him.

If you have not seen it.. Ackle-Berry Blow.. Jensen and Lisa Berry singing Blow at Torcon.. so good. .. ok.. just saw it in the playlist.. going there next. Did you know that at SDCC - when Kansas played the opener for SPN, Jensen was invited to sing with them and he turned them down? *gasp*. This performance.. I loved seeing the shy Jensen peek out at the end.. feeling himself..The rockstar that doesn't know he's a rock star.

I watch this version of Wanted Dead or Alive everyday & about 5 or more times each of those day. I've watch a bunch of videos of Jensen covering different songs & my other favorite is when he sings Heaven by Bryan Adams which I think he was still in Vegas but I'm not totally sure. And btw, I loved ur reaction to this video.
