The flies are called fungus gnats, they lay eggs in the soil and little larvae hatch which become the flies, dry the soil out completely, like bone dry that will kill all the larvae in the soil cuz they need moist soil, and then cover every speck of dirt on top of the surface of the soil with sand, and the flies wont be able to get in the soil anymore. Do this to all the plants you have. 😊

You can also get neem oil to spray the plant and water the plant with, the neem oil covers the larvae in the soil and chokes them to death basically.

About the flies- you can get a few matches and stick them in the soil brown part (where you light it) down. I had the same problem and this helped a LOT! Hope I helped!!!

I got them before and my mom told me to do regular dish soap and water in a squirt bottle and spray their home. It doesn't harm the plant and I know that not only from experience but I was in horticulture and studied plants. It works. Hope you try it.

To get rid of the flies you can get a glass or jar and fill it about halfway with apple cider vinegar and a little bit of soap. We used to have flies when we first got my turtle but ever since we did that we haven't had any problems with them. It really works.
