This sermon truly blessed me and confirmed the main reason why I'm fasting now. I've been feeling anxious and restless inside, and I sense the Lord telling me to come back and spend time with Him. Countless souls weighing in, many, are on the threshold, many, are left on the Jericho road. Many of them will never get back to God, except we fast them back to the road of holiness, to God's house. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ and i absolutely can't stop agreeing anymore. I would like to share my opinion as some are misguided by certain scriptures. To build a true relationship with God... 1. Prayer. Now this is where many take the scripture wrong, especially todays world: pray in Secret - what does it mean... Does it replace the Church? Praying in secret means only closing the door and praying? No... Praying in secret is giving your alone time to God. Personal time. If my house if full of noise or inconvenient then what? It can be an open space where there is no disturbance. It can be in the church, it can be at the blessed sacrament or can be at home but as long as you don't show off like the Pharisees! It does not replace those sacred places. And to continue... 2. Fasting Praying at home can be chosen cos of laziness and its cozy and comfort and don't have to walk or leave their house. This is where fasting comes.... What is fasting... Not only food or wine... Anything that our human body desires. Its in a way hurting our body... And so praying at home as an excuse over laziness is not acceptable cos your intentions are fake like the Pharisees. Many youngsters today use such scriptures to flee from Church by saying indo my prayers at home alone with God and further to support their claim they mention- that's what the preacher too said did you not hear him or the Priest or anyone they would use as an excuse.
