It was an interesting experience. there were no Jeeps in this battle, but plenty arrived in France and all around the world to take men to war. I have 'memories' of travelling the roads around Ypres, where my grandfather marched into battle and thankfully out of battle. Yep. Strange feelings. For this battle, the Frenchmen were very local, and their families still live here. A brother of one of the deceased was with us today.

Don't tell the vicar, I was squashed in the back with a dame.... GIs in the 1940's must have all been pretty skinny for two of 'em to fit with all their gear.
