That is NOT an adjustable wrench. It is an Imperial standard re-education device. If you are afflicted with a severe case of the metric system, it is used to get your mind right. Probably fell off a WWII jeep..

The trains were pointed out to me by some friends, the price was such that I didn't even think about haggling. The wrench just had a heavyweight quality look about it, it will certainly get used.

They are simple, buy a small bag of onion sets, push them base first into some well turned soil, let the onion do it's own thing.

@@harryfaber Thanks Harry.i I had to give my allotment up some time ago as I couldn’t manage it on my own plus it was two bus rides away and I can’t do buses anymore (silly spine fragility) In my funny tiny back garden, I only have pots and a raised bed so the onion sets aren’t happy! I am thinking of growing some spring onions though 🤔 I did have some luck with those 😊

I haven't planted any yet, but the big growers have a special breed that arrive ready stuffed and without the giblets. I think that they are a special variety, featherless, but in a plastic bag. Now, as part of your training to become English, you need to search for Fanny Craddock preparing a turkey for Christmas.

I think it is the cheese, goat cheese makes you fall over.... Scales for models is a subject I get annoyed about, it is almost as if model companies want to sell us more than one 2CV, one in 1:87th for HO railways, one in 1:72nd for OO railways, one in 1:76th to go with our tanks...... as child, it annoyed me that Airfix tanks were 1:76th but Airfix aircraft were 1:72nd. Their cars were 1:43rd. I haven't sacked the special effects team, I took them out and shot them. The next film will be way better....

It was an interesting experience. there were no Jeeps in this battle, but plenty arrived in France and all around the world to take men to war. I have 'memories' of travelling the roads around Ypres, where my grandfather marched into battle and thankfully out of battle. Yep. Strange feelings. For this battle, the Frenchmen were very local, and their families still live here. A brother of one of the deceased was with us today.

Rototiller noise! The neighbors will be jealous. My neighbor started rototilling in the July heat. He passed away the next day. He was 78 years old, and the neighborhood is full of teenage boys looking for work. I understand though, as I was on the roof with my cane inspecting the vent flashings, but I'm only 70.

I hand dug the small plots for this, the exercise did me good. Machine digging is ok, but I like to get in and remove all the roots first. Forks and spades for this job. I took a surplus courgette to a neighbour, who is 90+. She was on some steps cleaning her windows.

I buy the softball size ones 🙂 Cheap grocery store balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to caramelize in covered frying pan. Keep a jar full in the fridge and add to everything. I'm thinking of beef liver as I speak... umph, umph...

These won't survive long enough to be pickled, truth be told, this is only a couple of month's worth, they get used in everything from cheese sandwiches (raw) through hot dogs, shallow fried and then in all sorts of dishes.
