The video is an homage to Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, confirmed by the video director on her Instagram. So many callbacks and tributes. The fight scene happens in the film, too. It's the warring families of the two lovers. It makes sense from the "We aren't allowed to be together but f**k that I will die for you" perspective of the lyrics.

Jk said he filmed this in one day. He felt he was going to die! One kpop news channel said that Harry Styles n Britney Spears dropped by the set n gave opinions about the filming. The director is some big shot expert who have done work with big commercial campaigns n etc. Jk was very involved in the production of the songs according to Jk. Andrew Watt is also one of the writers.I’m grateful to Andrew Watts. He doesn’t see race. Others wouldn’t give such big projects to anyone not from his country. U wouldn’t know it’s sang by an Asian. Yes, I’ve been taking meds for 40 yrs. I need kidney transplant n other diseases. I listen to Bts to get thru dialysis 3 yrs ago. There’s no one to talk to about my love for Bts. So this song has LOTS of previous BTS song references. The way I interpret this song is him telling the guys that during this time or being apart, he will always be with them no matter what. Hence the deep like DNA, as they always reference that they are like blood brothers. Then the shots with the wings are all the same shots of him in Black Swan with the wings. And the air guitar is a move they did I believe in dynamite during the dance break. I really think this is a song for the other members. And then the fighting scene is all the haters coming after them now that they took a break as a band. Just my breakdown 😊
