Jeopardy Has Announced A New Guest Host

"Jeopardy!" is not just a game show, it’s an American institution. It debuted in 1964 and when it became a daily syndicated show in 1984, it was hosted by Alex Trebek until his sad passing in 2020. It will be hard to replace Trebek as he became synonymous with the show that has received wide viewership and countless accolades throughout his time on the program. But the show must go on, as they say. Fortunately, "Jeopardy!" producers have now made the announcement of who will be the new guest host. She’s a familiar face so if you have given up guessing, we have the answer.

If they name Katie Couric as permanent host of Jeopardy, people will keep Steve Harvey to host Family Feud. However, if they name Ken Jennings or LeVar Burton as permanent host of Jeopardy, Fremantle will remove Steve Harvey from the show and Family Feud will announce a new female host.

I have watched Jeopardy daily for 20+ years and it will never be the same without Alex as host. However, I will keep an open mind for the next host(s) because Alex would have wanted we the viewers to focus on the game rather than the host. There is always the chance that the next "permanent" host could become as iconic as Alex. That statement may currently seem like an impossible pill to swallow due to the circumstances, but with an open mind and a positive attitude we may very well fall in love with the next future star of Jeopardy much like we did with Alex. Let's all send positive vibes to everyone and look forward to the future

The New York Times reports (January 11, 2021) that Sony has hired former reality-show host Mike Richards as an executive producer to select the next host of Jeopardy! Richards handled the replacement of Bob Barker on “The Price Is Right,” and he chose Drew Carey. I’d like to see a series of Jeopardy champions taking turns as host, but chances are it will eventually go to a show-business personality.
