I was watching the 22nd game with my mom and when he ended the first round with -$600, she thought that was it and just zoned out. Five minutes later, after he hit the second daily double and answered a few more clues correctly, she glanced up at the screen again and said “Wait, how does he have $27,200?” That was probably the funniest moment of us watching Matt.

Since all 3 players often know the correct answer for the majority of questions, timing the buzzer is the most important skill on Jeopardy. That Matt was able to do this with a half-dozen different hosts is amazing.

I feel you, Kyle. Amy was really smart and terrific, but Matt was just so giddy and joyful and seemed to embrace every moment of the journey that it was really hard not to root for him and to really like him!

@@PeterSoby Don't get me wrong, Amy delivered successfully well in her 40-day run on Jeopardy. She's been killing it. But there's something about Matt that had me very interested. He's been awesome left and right. Going to his last game, I hate how he got beat up by those 2 contestants but it is what it is.

There's a part of me that was hoping when Amy Schneider passed Matt at 38 victories in a row, that she would just keep going and going. It kind of stinks that she only won two more than Matt. But… Wow… The tournament of champions is going to be bonkers!

Enjoyed watching all his episodes and was amazed at his broad knowledge, his final episode left me wandering if something happened that made him throw the game, The simple questions he missed or supposedly didn't know made ma wander, especially the final question where he answered Poland instead of Austria, don't tell me that Matt didn't know that Poland is nowhere near the Alps.

25:15--25:27 I knew, right after I read that clue, I knew it was the duckbill platypus!! I knew that even before I saw Matt Amodio's response!!! How did I know? From Phineas and Ferb!!!! 😃 At the end of the episode "Where's Perry Part II", Ferb mentions George Shaw's first description of the platypus in 1799.

Also, there's this video on KZbin called "All Of Ferb's Lines", that has every line of Ferb, I think from every episode, but if not, most episodes. I saw that video more than once, and that's how I remember, as is the case a lot of times. I have to see a video more than once (at least 5 times, I'd say) to remember everything in it.

Yes, it couldn't be easy to sustain the winning streak with so many different hosts, especially given the short amount of time/days that he did it in. And now, I can't believe Amy has tied him for second longest streak of all time. Looks like Matt might fall to third tomorrow. But, we will still love and appreciate his run just the same!

@@jackpow2004 because each host has a different cadence, different mannerisms of speaking, pronounces the ends of words differently (which in turn causes the buzzer judge to activate the signal lights at different times), etc.

If Matt hadn't got final Jeopardy wrong on his guest host, he could break the 1M dollar mark on Day 21, which became the second-longest streak, with James Holzhauer, breaking 1M on Day 14 and a 38 day total of $1,901.401. He could break 2M on Day 42 if he hadn't lost to Jonathan Fisher but who knows how well Matt will do, facing Amy Schneider with 40 Day Champion with 1.3M and a defeat of 11-day champion Jonathan Fisher with 246.100 during the 2022 Tournament of Champions

He’s a really, nice man, respectful and knowledgeable of the game, engages with fans, and will be a force to be reckoned with in the TOC. Won despite having to adjust to a series of hosts. Never made it about him unlike the posturing , obnoxious contestants who show up too often now. Your comment is both uninformed and boring.

I got tired of him after his 19th win. In addition to that, his voice and his response style by starting every response with "What's..." really got on my nerves.
