I cried the second he said “we lost our beloved host, Alex Trebek”. I watched jeopardy every single day for the past year and a half before covid. It was one of the only things in my life that made me happy and made me feel smart and like I was useful in a sense. I cried last night watching SNL, where they had a little tribute. They had the infamous blue screen with “This man was the greatest game show host of all time” followed by “Who is... Alex Trebek”. I teared up. I haven’t been able to process his death, because despite the low survival rates, his positive spirits had given me so much hope for his recovery. I’m just glad he wasn’t suffering. He had his family around him and died peacefully, leaving behind a great legacy.❤️

Although I couldn’t understand a word of English it was a ritual for me and my brother to sit infront of the TV with our dinner and watch. I learned English from your show and the subjects sparked up curiosity. I will forever feel this void.

I normally don't cry when someone famous passed away but this one made me cried since I was just remembering when Alex was standing on his podium. Especially seeing how emotional Mike Richards got when he no longer sees his great mentor and friend standing at his podium. A great man with a great heart. Now he's in a better place with God where he is no longer in pain. My prayers go out to his loved ones, and colleagues that were by his side during his battle with this terrible disease. This year has taken great TV legends, 250,000 lives due to this virus, and my aunt, who passed away back in May at age 64. At least this gentleman like he mentioned in one interview, "I lived a hell of a good life." And he lived all the way to 80 years old. I will definitely see his final episode on Christmas day.
